Looking for things to do in Palo Alto and the surrounding Peninsula this week? 🌿🎭🍷

There’s a little bit of everything on the local events calendar, from the Gamble Plant Sale and gardening workshops to live theater, community celebrations, art festivals, family activities, and more.

Highlights include A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder at Lucie Stern Theatre, the Art & Wine Festival at Menlo College, Fiestas Patrias in Redwood City, Kepler’s Summer Block Party in Menlo Park, and the Gamble Garden events happening throughout the week.

Families can also check out Kid Makers Crafts, a community Pancake Breakfast, Family Game Night, and other activities happening around Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Los Altos, and Redwood City. 🎨🥞🎲

Join Sports Basement this weekend for their Inaugural Bay to Basement community paddle race!

Sports Basement Redwood City and Redwood Water Sports are inviting Peninsula paddlers to make a little local history at the inaugural Bay to Basement race on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.

The two-mile paddle race will take place on Redwood Creek, with participants racing in kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and surf skis before finishing beside the Sports Basement Redwood City store.

WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026

CHECK-IN: 10 a.m.

FIRST RACE WAVE: 11 a.m.

WHERE: Sports Basement Redwood City, 202 Walnut St., Redwood City

COURSE: Two-mile out-and-back course on Redwood Creek

CATEGORIES: Surf ski, kayak and stand-up paddleboard

REGISTRATION: $10, redeemable for a $10 Sports Basement gift card
