Our Story

Our Guthrie County newspapers understand readers want to see their friends and neighbors in the paper, their kids and their grandkids. Our once-weekly paper cares deeply about schools and communities, and the people and events that make Guthrie County a great place to live and work. Herald Publishing Company, the Carroll-based parent company of The Daily Times Herald, purchased three papers in Guthrie County on May 1, 2014. The company, owned by the Wilson family, purchased the Guthrie Center Times and Guthrie County Vedette, both weekly papers, and the seasonal monthly Lake Panorama Times, from Scott Gonzales, whose family has been in the newspaper business for over 60 years. The Guthrie County Times Vedette prints Thursdays of each week. We love to hear from our readers! Please contact us to share feedback, and story ideas.
