Every month pens a personal Lifestyle Letter reflecting on the issue theme. Here’s July’s…
As I write this letter, I’m on summer “break” with my boys. Since they were babies, we’ve chosen memories over monetary, often hitting the open road. In fact, they know every word to: “On the Road Again.”
This month’s issue is all about exploration, and to me, there’s nothing like taking the trip. It’s when we step away from the beautiful chaos of everyday life; connecting and reconnecting. Whether we’re skipping rocks, hiking, or doing something spontaneously wild, it’s in those moments that our family finds its rhythm. We’ve raised our boys to appreciate and embrace experience with open hearts.
My best memories live in these sacred summers with our kids, and yes, I know they fly by. (Don’t remind me we only get 18; I’m set on proving that wrong.)
When my boys reminisce, it’s always about our travels, but I know it’s the little things that truly stay with them. Staying up late playing Uno in a hotel room. The oversized ice cream cone for dessert. Chasing ocean waves until the sun sets. These are the memories I hope they hold onto. We’re lucky to detach during summer and travel as a family. Growing up, this was my dream… craving a family unit that could slow down and savor experience together.
Our cover Mark Maggiori is the epitome of exploration. The swoon-worthy Scottsdale-based French artist has a story spanning Led Zeppelin, music moguldom, and Western art now praised by Kevin Costner. You’ll also get a rare look inside Danica Patrick’s Scottsdale home. As a valued PVCL supporter, she shares the story behind her wine biz and Calistoga tasting room. Craving a summer sip? California’s calling.
Our City Scene spotlights PVCL’s annual May Women’s Issue celebration, lovingly hosted at The Italiano by our treasured friend, Chef Joey Maggiore. With a packed house of PVCL partners, friends, and community members, we toasted this powerful issue featuring Joey’s daughter as she navigates lymphoma… and generous donors contributed raffle prizes benefiting LLS.
Now I best be getting back to my boys.
Here’s to exploring the parts of life that matter most.
