Every month pens a personal Lifestyle Letter reflecting on the issue theme. Here’s July’s…

As I write this letter, I’m on summer “break” with my boys. Since they were babies, we’ve chosen memories over monetary, often hitting the open road. In fact, they know every word to: “On the Road Again.”

This month’s issue is all about exploration, and to me, there’s nothing like taking the trip. It’s when we step away from the beautiful chaos of everyday life; connecting and reconnecting. Whether we’re skipping rocks, hiking, or doing something spontaneously wild, it’s in those moments that our family finds its rhythm. We’ve raised our boys to appreciate and embrace experience with open hearts.

My best memories live in these sacred summers with our kids, and yes, I know they fly by. (Don’t remind me we only get 18; I’m set on proving that wrong.)

When my boys reminisce, it’s always about our travels, but I know it’s the little things that truly stay with them. Staying up late playing Uno in a hotel room. The oversized ice cream cone for dessert. Chasing ocean waves until the sun sets. These are the memories I hope they hold onto. We’re lucky to detach during summer and travel as a family. Growing up, this was my dream… craving a family unit that could slow down and savor experience together.

Our cover Mark Maggiori is the epitome of exploration. The swoon-worthy Scottsdale-based French artist has a story spanning Led Zeppelin, music moguldom, and Western art now praised by Kevin Costner. You’ll also get a rare look inside Danica Patrick’s Scottsdale home. As a valued PVCL supporter, she shares the story behind her wine biz and Calistoga tasting room. Craving a summer sip? California’s calling.

Our City Scene spotlights PVCL’s annual May Women’s Issue celebration, lovingly hosted at The Italiano by our treasured friend, Chef Joey Maggiore. With a packed house of PVCL partners, friends, and community members, we toasted this powerful issue featuring Joey’s daughter as she navigates lymphoma… and generous donors contributed raffle prizes benefiting LLS.

Now I best be getting back to my boys.
Here’s to exploring the parts of life that matter most.

From the pages of our July Explore Issue…
📍 Scottsdale’s went from fashion shoots for Times Square billboards to the great outdoors rediscovering her lens on life.

🎁 “My husband gave me a special lens for Christmas. Days later, I was on a plane to South Africa with no tripod, no plan, just instinct.”

🐆 “We saw a mother leopard with three newborn cubs. Our guide- 20 years at Mala Mala- had never seen anything like it.”

🖤 “She dragged an impala up a tree, then carried each cub up one by one. It was raw, beautiful, and intimate.”

🌵 Back home in Scottsdale:
“Now I notice everything… the light on a cactus, the bloom of a saguaro. God’s artwork.”

📸 She joined The Thriving Artist Academy and started capturing the American West… Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon, and beyond.

🌅 “Waking up at 3:30 a.m. to chase the light… that’s when it became a calling.”

Then 👉 Now.

Congrats to this dynamic duo on Devin’s well-earned and epic extension. We were honored to have these two grace the cover of our May Women’s issue. The story? All about Jess + the decade-long bond between them, built on business, trust, and unwavering friendship.

As the Valley celebrates Book’s extension, here are a few snippets from Jessica’s May cover story reflecting on their journey.

🗣 “I consider Devin family, and we have known one another over ten years. We root for each other’s success always.”

🗣 “From day one, I knew Devin was different. He is mature beyond his years and his emotional intelligence is off the charts.”

🗣 “Devin doesn’t do many local magazine covers, but I knew he’d say yes. He’s backed me since day one.”

🗣 “We’ve done so much in his career, and I am proud to say we have done it together. That’s special.”

🗣 “Some agents and their clients can be very transactional. That is not our story, and it will never be that story with my clients.”

🗣 “The players I work with are human, and I’m human, and we talk on that most basic level, which is why we work well together.”

🗣 “He’s the Suns all-time leading scorer and a formative figure. He is a beloved legend to the city.”

🗣 “I love how the people here love and appreciate Devin because he’s insanely good at basketball, and an amazing person with a lot to offer his community, his friends, and his family.”

🗣 “He’s incredibly meticulous about storytelling through his shoes- every element is intentional.”

🗣 “He’s all about women empowerment. His mom and his sister are his why.”

This is what ten years of belief, hard work, and shared values looks like 💫

This July, we’re celebrating exploration… not just of faraway destinations, but of the walls around us 🏡✨

Meet , founder of , the Scottsdale-based creative turning blank walls into bold expressions. What began as a DIY project has grown into a go-to destination for peel-and-stick murals, decals, and custom designs

As featured in our July issue, here are 13 ways Danielle is helping people explore their spaces👇

1️⃣ Started in Her Garage
What began as a mom’s solution for bare nursery walls sparked a movement in meaningful, customizable design.

2️⃣ Graphic Design Meets Real Life
Danielle’s background in layout and print gives her an edge; she knows how to turn a digital idea into a full-room statement.

3️⃣ Walls Should Feel Like You
Design isn’t just about looks… it’s about energy, comfort, and emotional connection to your space.

4️⃣ Built Around Emotion, Not Ego
Forget trends. Urbanwalls builds collections based on how they make you feel, not how they perform on Pinterest.

5️⃣ 2025 Trends to Watch
Think faux textures, muted tones, asymmetry, and mural-style storytelling with nature-driven themes.

6️⃣ Peel-and-Stick = Creative Freedom
Removable designs make it easy to take risks- no stress, no commitment, no regrets.

7️⃣ Custom Murals That Elevate Brands
From home offices to 27,000 sq ft fitness clubs, Urbanwalls creates large-scale visuals that reflect brand identity.

8️⃣ Texture Is Everything
Color is secondary- visual texture creates dimension, warmth, and a high-design finish without fuss.

9️⃣ Not Wallpaper- Wall Storytelling
Every piece is a narrative, a reflection of the person or family behind the design.

🔟 Her Favorite Project? Her Daughter’s Room
A playful wallpaper of animal portraits.

1️⃣1️⃣ Advice for the Bold (and Hesitant)
Try a hallway, ceiling, or closet door. Unexpected spots make for the best design moments.

1️⃣2️⃣ Why Urbanwalls Is Different
No damage, no mass production… just thoughtful, easy-to-install art.

1️⃣3️⃣ Real People, Real Conversations
Danielle designs with moms, business owners, and creatives in mind- collaboration is the core.
