Evacuation has been lifted, all residents can return home, the fire is under control. All county roads are back open.

All Lamar Volunteer Fire Departments, Lamar County Sheriff's Office and Lamar County Office of Emergency Management are currently working a large grass fire that has put homes in danger. Lamar County Emergency Management has started evacuating the homes in the area of County Road 44370, County Road 45200 and County Road 45080 near the intersection of County Road 45200. All traffic has been re-routed, please do not go near these areas until further notice. We will keep you updated on the evacuations and detours.
