Colby Acuff announced on Tuesday that his sixth studio album, Enjoy the Ride, is coming out on October 3rd.
“I’m so happy to announce my new record Enjoy the Ride, an 11-song project that was made by you. After interviewing 40 random strangers off the street from three different cities, I wrote an 11-song concept record that hopefully lets you know that you’re not alone.
In addition to the album announcement, Acuff also gave fans a teaser of what’s to come with the release of two new songs today: “His Song (What’s A Man Supposed To Be)” and “Her Song (Numb to Everything).”
“His Song (What’s A Man Supposed To Be)” is my personal favorite on this record. Essentially, I feel that all the pressures of the world can really be hard for men, especially young men. I feel it a lot of days as well. At the end of the day, it’s okay to be you. It’s okay to have your own journey and understand that your life is important. Life isn’t a race, it’s an experience.” Colby follows that up with “Her Song,” both are on my ‘Facebook Post of the Day;’

Back in 2015, many of country music’s best came together to honor Waylon Jennings for a special live concert in Austin, Texas.
However, the highlight of the night was when all of the performers took the stage together for a star-studded performance of “Luckenbach, Texas.”
I mean, we’re talking about Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Jamey Johnson, Lee Ann Womack, Ryan Bingham, Kacey Musgraves, Sturgill Simpson, Alison Krauss, Toby Keith, and more… yes, many MORE… packing the stage for the once in a lifetime performance, which went on to be featured in a TV special called Outlaw: Celebrating The Music of Waylon Jennings.
We got Ryan Bingham and Jamey Johnson kicking it off, Eric Church messing up the second verse after a Toby Keith distraction, followed by Kacey and Toby working together on the latter part of the second verse, and you finish up with the whole crew on the chorus. Dierks Bentley and The Band Loula couldn’t let their version of “Get Down On Your Knees And Pray” only exist in the memories (and phone videos) of those who attended the Broken Branches Tour.
I first heard this song sung live by the Del McCoury Band. It’s an old Bill Monroe song that I’ve always loved, but I never would have thought it was something I’d add to my own set. However that was before I met The Band Loula!
We worked up a really cool, swampy arrangement of it that leans on their delta bluegrass-y sound. I’m so glad we were able to make this live recording and have something that lives on past this summer.”
