From the Park Rapids Rotary Club: The Rotary Fireworks show scheduled for tonight will be postponed. The forecasted severe weather scheduled to impact the area around 7, the Thunderstorm and Flood watches call for making a safety decision. It is with public safety and the safety of the pyrotechnics crew and support staff that we postpone tonight's event.

The contingency date is Thursday July 31 at dusk - and will coincide with the PR All School Reunion Festivities.

This was a super tough decision - but future radar, severity of the storm, it's timing and duration are all factors taken into consideration. Everyone involved truly loves the PR fireworks and want it to be successful. We will look forward to a great event at the end of July.

Temperatures will be on the rise in the coming days. Humid conditions Thursday with heat indices rising above 90 in some areas. 20-30% chance showers or t-storms late this afternoon and tonight parts of northeast ND and northwest MN. Chance of a few storms Thursday. The main chance of thunderstorms will come on Independence Day as a front approaches. We are monitoring for the risk of severe storms and heavy rainfall.
