Our Toyota shoot taught me a tremendous amount about my team. When you hire the right people, the rest takes care of itself. I came from a Gorilla filmmaking background with micro crews. And now, with large scale commercials, it is sometimes hard to let go. I always think think there is something I should be doing. A set of 2 people is much more stressful than a set of 75 people.

A Director who understands how to get what they want out of actors, while also letting the actor find it on their own leads to surprises. Knowing what you want but also having the ability to let an actor breathe is critical. Especially when it comes to comedy. Never criticize an actor. Make them feel like they can try something else and lead them to what you want. Our directors are actor centric. And it shows.

My Dad was a pipe fitter. And I would go with him on jobs as a kid. That is hard work. Production is a privilege.
