2026 Hamburger Hop Adding Flavor to the Chicago Gourmet Weekend

The 2026 Hamburger Hop, part of the Chicago Gourmet culinary festival weekend, brought together top chefs to battle for best burger bragging rights while guests enjoyed Chicago skyline views, crave-worthy burger creations, cold b**r, w**e and handcrafted cocktails.

Presented by Homegrown and supported by Sysco, DoorDash and Miller Lite, the popular event featured many of Chicago’s top restaurants and burger destinations, including Hamburger Henry’s, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, Kuma’s Corner, Gus’ Sip & Dip, Gutenburg, Smash Jibarito, Mēhārī Burger Bar, The Dawson, North Beach Social, Superkhana International, Fermento’s and others.

Celebrity judges included chefs Joe Flamm, Jeff Mauro, Art Mendoza and Tony Mantuano, along with James Sanders and other culinary personalities.

The Hamburger Hop is always a hot ticket. Be sure to get your tickets early for next year’s event, as it traditionally sells out.

The Illinois Restaurant Association kicked off its annual Chicago Gourmet festival weekend tonight with Tacos & Tequila, presented by Square and US Foods, at the Harris Theater Rooftop in downtown Chicago.

The lively event brought together gourmet tacos from some of Chicago’s top chefs, along with premium tequilas, agave spirits and other specialty beverages. Guests enjoyed an energetic evening of food, drinks, music and celebration under the stars.

Adding to the festive atmosphere were live mariachis and colorful Mexican folk dancers, creating an authentic and high-energy backdrop for the evening.

Tacos & Tequila served as a flavorful kickoff to Chicago Gourmet weekend, bringing together members of Chicago’s restaurant community, food lovers and hospitality professionals while showcasing the creativity and talent that continue to make Chicago one of the country’s great dining destinations.
