This old buck wrote his own fate when he regularly started daylighting in early October. It doesn’t happen very often, but if you can dial in where they’re bedding, you can often times find them on their feet in shooting hours. When I was looking for him after the shot, I noticed 15+ active scrapes around where I thought he was bedding. This is ultimately what sealed the deal. He came directly down his scrape line and hit three of them in front of me before taking an arrow. There’s a cold front is moving in later this week. Mid to late October can be a deadly time of year if the temps drop. Good luck!
