Our Stars Strong hangout was so much fun! 🌻✨ High school students stopped by Villa 500 to connect, unwind, and just kick back. After sharing food and good conversation, they helped plant sunflower seeds along Villa 500 for our initiative.

We’re filled with gratitude for everyone who joined us for our First 2026 Planting Day! Together, we planted over 1,000 sunflower seeds across 8 sites. 🌻💛

Our Stars Strong students also joined in by planting sunflower seeds along Villa 500 and decorating planting pot starters with acrylic markers. 🎨🌱

Wow! That’s STEM Volunteers Kyle and Qi joined our K-5 students to do science experiments! 👩‍🔬🧪

First, they taught our students about “chemical reactions” using baking soda, vinegar and water! Students were delighted to watch the fizzy reaction they created.
Afterward, students built their own hovercrafts using CDs, bottle caps, and balloons. They blew air into the balloons, and when released, the hovercrafts glided smoothly across desks and the floor.

Six students from our Muir Girls Group visited Hauser & Wirth to meet artist Christina Quarles.

Students engaged directly with Quarles, who shared insights into her creative process and gave students an exclusive preview of her upcoming exhibition The Ground Glows Black, created in the wake of the Altadena wildfires and exploring themes of displacement: geographical, emotional, and corporeal.
