* An ICE agent, Christian Castro, was charged in connection with a January 14, 2026, shooting in Minneapolis. He faces four counts of second-degree assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime. Prosecutors allege video evidence contradicts his claim that he acted in self-defense.

* He was arrested in Harlingen, Texas, on May 29, 2026, after Minnesota authorities obtained an arrest warrant. He was taken into custody by federal agents, Texas Rangers, and Minnesota investigators.

* The Minneapolis shooting was nonfatal. The victim, Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, was shot in the leg and survived.

* The charges stem from Minnesota state prosecutors, not a federal prosecution.
