In July of 1917, out on Catalina Island, a cast of 66 actors and actresses were filming “Sirens of the Sea,” featuring a bevy of beauties adorned with shreds of seaweed and not much else (remember, we were still in the days before movie censorship). It's TBT! 🎬 🎥

Notice, there's no casino in the background because it was not built yet, and wont be for an other 12 years.

Friends of Oceano Dunes that we just featured…

Friends is excited to announce that the lawsuit with the CCC is officially over. Today, the California Supreme Court made its final determination to not hear the petition for review by the California Coastal Commission (CCC) regarding its attempt to ban OHVs at the Oceano Dunes.

This is a major victory for Friends which reaffirms the lower court’s decision that the CCC overstepped its authority when they voted to close the Oceano Dunes.

The fight is NOT over, and Friends will continue to work to protect what we have and regain what we have lost.

Located in Pat's grandfather's hometown of Elgin is Cooper Park, Elgin Library, the central library for Moray and a Learndirect Scotland and ECDL centre.

Elgin Library is Moray’s main library. It holds an extensive collection of books and spoken word CDs for borrowing by children, teenagers and adults. Elgin library has a range of local information. A great place to research your ancestry.

Happy 68th Anniversary to the Founding of The Hanna-Barbera Animation Studios!, (July 7, 1957). 🎈

Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, Inc. was an American animation studio and production company that produced animated and live-action programming until 2001. It was founded 68 years ago, on July 7, 1957, by Tom and Jerry creators and former MGM cartoon studio staff, William Hanna and Joseph Barbera.

Since 1963, Hanna-Barbera, its archives and its extensive animation art collection moved to Sherman Oaks Galleria in Sherman Oaks, California, where Warner Bros. Animation was located and operated alongside that studio there until 2001, when H-B was absorbed into it.
