Earlier today, a 48-year-old suspect was detained after shooting at officers executing a search warrant.
A 33-year-old Suffolk County Police officer from the Third Precinct was shot in the face. The officer was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

In the spirit of giving back to a community that has always been there for Anthony and his family, the Grilli family established the Anthony M. Grilli Memorial Scholarship Fund. For the past 19 years, the scholarship has been given every year to two Islip High School seniors with the passion of pursuing a college education in the area of culinary and music, two of Anthony’s favorite things.
