Paul begins his letter to the church in Rome ;
" Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God"
What is he saying? His name is Paul, who he is; IS a bondservant of Jesus Christ.
His calling to the Body of Christ is the office of an apostle.
His identity is a bondservant
His calling is what his function in the Body of Christ is.
May we all become bondservants: one who through love and devotion lays his life down for Christ. May we remember our identity is a bondservant not our ministry function. We need to lose our obsession with titles and offices and become bondservants of Christ.
