A highly active weather system has been moving through the region for the last couple of hours. Giles County is still under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10PM tonight. Have a source to receive instant notification of weather alerts and expect the potential for rapid changes in weather.

The public's safety is our priority. If you observe anything that could pose a threat to one's safety, including downed power poles, lines, trees, or roadway/environmental hazards, dial 911 to report it.

Mountain Lake Road is now open!

𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐃 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐃

Mountain Lake Road (Rt. 700) is CLOSED for traffic due to a mudslide. All traffic must detour to Doe Creek Road.

As a side note, Mountain Lake Lodge will be hosting their annual fireworks display tonight. We anticipate increased traffic on Doe Creek Road for the evening.
