Pearsall,

We are just over one month away from our annual Blue Santa Toy Giveaway scheduled for December 19th from 11am to 2pm.

The Pearsall Police Department kindly asks for your assistance. No toy is too big or too small. We appreciate the community's kindness.

Last year appeared to be a success judging by the many smiles of the children who came to receive a toy at the Police Department. We are hoping we will have another successful year with this giveaway.

On behalf of the Pearsall Police Department, thank you all for making this a successful event, year after year.

- Chief D. Flores

ARSONIST ON WEST SIDE
Authorities urge vigilance
By Breyana Segura
Chief Staff Writer
A vacant two-story house near Polo Patino Park has been deliberately set on fire twice within three days, prompting local authorities to issue a warning to residents to remain vigilant for suspicious activity.

The property, located at 162 Davila Street, was first targeted on Sunday, November 16, around 6:45 a.m. Fire crews were called to the scene after a passerby spotted flames on the front of the structure. Thanks to the quick action of the witness and firefighters, the blaze was swiftly extinguished, resulting in only minor damage to the unoccupied residence.

However, the same house was targeted again on Tuesday, November 18, at approximately 2:45 PM. This time, in the middle of the day, the arsonist reportedly ignited the back of the residence, causing significant structural damage. The Pearsall Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) responded to the more recent blaze, with assistance from the Moore VFD.

Officials are actively investigating both incidents as arson. The repeated nature of these attacks has heightened concerns among emergency services and local residents. While no injuries have been reported, the incidents pose a serious threat to public safety and property.

Area residents, particularly those around Polo Patino Park and Davila Street, are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or activities immediately to local law enforcement. Authorities emphasize the importance of community cooperation in identifying the perpetrator and preventing further incidents.

Anyone with information regarding these fires is encouraged to contact their local police department or call 911.
