This weather system has resulted in catastrophic flooding in the Kerrville area. The storm system is beginning to move South into our response area.

While we don’t currently expect the significant flooding as the system moves through, our low water crossings and dry creeks can rise quickly creating a hazardous situation. Do not drive into any moving water or water you can’t see. Additionally plan any moving around for daylight hours and stay off roads at night when water across roads may be hard to recognize.

🚨 Weather Alert from the Uvalde volunteer Fire Department 🚨

Heavy rainfall is expected in our area this weekend. Please stay alert, monitor local forecasts, and avoid any unnecessary travel if possible.

Remember: Turn Around, Don’t Drown!
Just six inches of moving water can knock you down, and one foot can sweep your vehicle away. Never attempt to drive through flooded roadways—your safety is not worth the risk.

Stay safe, Uvalde. We’re here if you need us. 🚒🌧️
