The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum invites you to join them for a special Valentine’s Day Crafting and Card Making Workshop!
Show your sweetheart that you care with a charming, unique, and handmade Victorian-style Valentine’s Day card! Learn about the history of valentines and the printed “scraps” used to make them in the 19th century while you craft your own original card.
This workshop will be held tomorrow, February 10th from 10:00am to 11:30am and costs $15 per person. The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum is located at 895 Shore Rd, Pelham Bay Park.

Kindle your inner artist by joining the Bronxville Public Library’s Adult Craft Program. Get ready for 2024 by designing your own perpetual calendar. Perpetual calendars have no year attached, just the days of the month–a perfect way to keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, and other notable occasions. This event will take place on Thursday, December 28th at 1:30pm in the Yeager Community Room of the Bronxville Library. Registration is required, so stop by the library or call the Adult Reference Desk, (914) 337-7680 ext. 824.

Head down to the Bronxville Public Library next week for some special matinee movies in the Yeager Community Room!
“A Smoky Mountain Christmas” (1986) starring Dolly Parton will be shown on Wednesday, December 20th at 1:30pm. ‘A country singer and a mountain man rescue seven runaway orphans from a sheriff and a witch.’ The film is rated TV-G and is 94 minutes long.
“Christmas in Connecticut” (1945) starring Barbara Stanwyk will be shown on Thursday, December 21st at 1:30pm. ‘A food writer who has lied about being the perfect housewife must try to cover her deception when her boss and a returning war hero invite themselves to her home for a traditional family Christmas.’ The film is not rated and is 101 minutes long.

Learn about the fascinating real-life story of “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” as told by educational entertainer Martina Matheson. Matheson will also be sharing the stories behind our American Christmas Traditions. Why do we kiss under mistletoe? Why do we decorate with poinsettias? The Bronxville Public Library’s December Adult Book Discussion Group will take place Tuesday, December 19th in the Yeager Room at 7:00pm. This month, the group will discuss “Days Without End,” a novel written by Sebastian Barry (postponed from November). There will be holiday festivities to celebrate the end of the year following the discussion. New members who would like to join the discussion should contact the group leader at [email protected].
