I’ve been thinking about something this week.
So many of us feel a nudge from God to do something… to start, share, or step into a calling He’s been whispering about for a while.
But instead of moving, we pause.
We tell ourselves things like:
“I’m not ready yet.”
“I don’t know enough.”
“I’m not good enough.”
So we wait.... until we feel more confident, know more, or everything feels clear.
But let's be honest, that “perfect moment” we’re waiting for never comes.
God has never required perfection before obedience.
All throughout Scripture, God used ordinary people who didn’t feel qualified.
People who doubted, felt unprepared, and who didn’t have all the answers.
And yet… He still called them.
Why? Because God isn’t looking for the most polished or the most prepared. He’s looking for the willing.
The truth is, when God calls us, He doesn't give us the whole picture up front. He shows us the next step. Then the next one. Then the next one.
He teaches us what we need to know along the way and places the right people in our path. He opens doors we couldn’t have planned. But none of that can happen if we never take the first step.
There’s a reason He doesn’t give us all the answers ahead of time. Because if we had everything figured out, we wouldn’t need Him. Our calling is meant to be God-sized. It’s meant to stretch and grow us... to remind us that we’re not meant to do this without Him. We’re not supposed to have it all together. We’re supposed to rely on Him. That’s the whole point.
So if God has been calling you lately, stop waiting until you feel ready.
Move because you trust Him, because He sees the full picture when you can’t.
Obedience looks a lot like taking a step without knowing where the path leads. Your obedience isn’t just about you. He's positioning you to reach someone else… to plant a seed in someone’s life that changes everything.
But if you stay stuck in fear or perfectionism, those moments never happen.
God doesn’t need perfection. He just needs a willing heart.
So the next time He asks you to move, say yes. Not because you have everything figured out, but because you trust the One who does.
