MILITARY TRIBUTE AND FIRST RESPONDER GOLF OUTING

Held September 6 at Pennsauken Country Club

The 11th annual Pennsauken Country Club Golf Association Military Tribute and First Responder Golf Outing is set for Saturday Sept. 6. Last year, the outing raised $15,800, that was distributed to the following organizations: Fisher House, Semper Fi Fund, Folds of Honor, Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, Steven Stiller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and Honor Flight of South Jersey. They are hoping to surpass last year’s money raised to continue to support these various organizations.

The Pennsauken Community Center is that much closer to becoming reality, as construction vehicles have been busy clearing and grading the land so that a foundation can be prepared and poured, and work can progress. The $20 million project, which will be built on the corner of Westfield and Bethel avenues, has been made possible with both state and federal funding.

CPAC And AmeriCorps Seniors Launch Fun Programs for Local Seniors

The Community Planning & Advocacy Council (CPAC) and AmeriCorps Seniors are offering two exciting programs this summer designed to keep local seniors active, connected, and engaged.

First up is a lively BINGO Tournament on Friday, July 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at 2500 McClellan Ave., Suite 110, in Pennsauken. The event promises friendly competition with a “Winner Takes All” prize.

In addition, the “Young at Heart” Walking Group runs every other Friday, noon, at Cooper River Park’s inner track. Open to all fitness levels, the group offers seniors a chance to stay fit, meet new friends, and enjoy the outdoors at their own pace.

For more information about either program, or to RSVP, contact Guy Still at (856) 426-4523 or [email protected].
