Meet Our Author

At DAB Books, we strive to provide a diverse selection of literature that caters to all readers. Our goal is to foster a love for reading by making quality books accessible to everyone.

About the Author: Preston Judd was born in the early 1980s in the far northern state of California. Raised with a subsistence lifestyle on a farm with no electricity and tilling the family gardens with horse and plow, Preston learned hard work and self sufficiency are cornerstones to survival and anonymity. Judd was homeschooled by way of McGuffy Readers. During his childhood Preston learned to split rails, chop fire wood, tend a farm, raise farm animals, milk goats, hunt, fish and work hard.

In the early 1990s due to familial upheaval, Judd moved to the state of Washington near Seattle to live with his youngest sister. During the next year of his life, more familial upheaval forced Judd out onto the street where he lived during the day, and found the "Cocoon House" at night. He was able to attend a school for troubled children during some of this time. A widower in her 70s whom Judd had met from church a year earlier took notice of this young boy. She saw him languishing, living on the street, and suffering for want of housing, clothing and food. She offered to take Judd in. Judd was hesitant, however, he eventually relented with the promise that he could go to high school. Judd entered high school and lettered in track, cross country and wrestling. He maintained a 4.0 GPA and graduated in 2001. Seeking a job in aviation, Judd joined the United States Marine Corps in 2001, and attended school at Naval Air Station Pensacola. Upon graduation Judd embarked on a 20-year career in Marine Aviation. As a Logistician, he deployed on the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). He also deployed to Japan for four years. Shortly after his return to San Diego, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During this deployment in 2012, he came under direct and indirect fire at Camp Bastion. This account is documented in his book "River City". Judd finished his career with the United States Marine Corps in late 2021. He
