What a day at the “Rickwood Classic” (now called The Rickwood Game) - with Dan Time fan favorite Jim Powell! Also had a Gerald Watkins (Friends of Rickwood) sighting. ⚾️

Another Rickwood game in the books!! Always a memorable trip back in time at America’s oldest ballpark. I have attended several “Rickwood Classic” games (as they were billed in the past) since 2002. This was my first time back at Rickwood since the field renovations in 2024.

This year’s game was once again a tribute to the old Negro Leagues. The Pensacola Blue Wahoos wore the jerseys of the Pensacola Seagulls, a feeder team to the Negro Southern League. The Birmingham Barons honored the Birmingham Black Barons.

If you have an opportunity to attend the East-West Classic on Juneteenth, I highly recommend it. ⚾️

Happy Mother’s Day! 💘 A mother’s undying love can change a little boy’s or girl’s life. Just knowing she is squarely in your corner. Even though I don’t get to spend as much time with my mom these days, I’ve never doubted her love for me. She always made me and my brothers feel special and she raised us to be nice. I try to pass that along to my kids. ❤️❤️

Live music, especially at intimate venues, is still one of my favorite pastimes. I've been fortunate to see this band perform several times dating back almost 30 years. Hope you enjoy my review of Drivin N Cryin's recent performance in Pensacola, FL. If you're in the Southeast US (or will be later this year), and you enjoy some good rock 'n roll, consider taking in one of their shows.🎸
