Starting from scratch as a content creator?
No clients, no portfolio, and no idea where to even begin?
Yeah… been there. Here’s what I wish someone told me 👇🏾

Start creating even if nobody’s watching.
If you’re waiting on clients to magically appear before you make content… that’s the problem.
Post your ideas. Show how you film. Show how you edit. Break down your thought process.
People hire creators whose work they can SEE.

Your “niche problem” is just fear talking.
Pick something you like creating content for—beauty, lifestyle, business owners, fitness, med spas—whatever.
Choosing a direction doesn’t trap you. It just helps people know what the hell you do.

Your everyday life = content.
You stressing over “what to post” while there’s content sitting in your camera roll right now.
Clips of you editing, voiceovers, camera setups, client mock-ups… that’s what builds your portfolio.

Stop trying to make your first 10 videos perfect.
They won’t be.
And the only way your videos get better is by posting, messing up, learning, and trying again.

And please—talk to people.
Comment on the brands you want to work with.
Engage with other creators.
Show up in the spaces your clients hang out in.
Visibility brings opportunities… not silence.

You don’t need fancy equipment.
You don’t need a huge following.
You just need to start posting like someone who knows their content is about to hit.

Our last content shoot, we filmed 5 professionals within 6 hours and for sooooo much quality videos.

Instagram just launched some changes that they didn't announce... but they can really impact how we show up as content creators 👀

👉 You now need 1,000 followers to go Live. I recommend you always go live when your followers are most active—it makes all the difference.
👉 You can now see exactly when people liked your Reels. This shows you if your hook is strong or if it needs work.
👉 Carousel posts insights—you can track which slide got the most engagement so you know what messaging connects best with your audience.
👉 And the Edits app added a teleprompter feature—perfect for those of us who have a lot to say but don’t want to blank on camera.
