“Life has no meaning except that which we give it.”
Charles Lindbergh

Meaning is built through service, commitment, and moments that shape a life. We are proud to capture stories filled with purpose, honor, and lived experience so they are never lost.

Behind the scenes moments tell the story too!

In this short clip, Frank Zastoupil reflects on what it was like having microphones and cameras everywhere during the filming of the Blue Angels documentary. No off switch. Just constant awareness while doing an already demanding job.

As Frank puts it, the experience “made us as a Team a lot tighter.”

It is a powerful reminder that sharing the pressure and the responsibility can strengthen trust and connection. These are the moments we love capturing at Hellcat Hangar!

Here's another clip from the post Blue Angels Documentary panel discussion. This time featuring MAJ Frank 'Chomps' Zastoupil as he recounts the challenges wi...

Flighthand Friday!

This Flighthand Friday video was recorded during the rollout of the film Devotion, which tells the true story of Jesse Brown, the first African American Naval Aviator. As part of the release, a gala was held at the National Naval Aviation Museum and attended by cast members along with family members connected to the real events behind the film.

We were fortunate to record a panel discussion that included JD Dillard, director of Devotion, Bruce Dillard, former Blue Angels Events Coordinator #8, and JD’s father, as well as Donnie Cochran, former three time Blue Angel pilot.

While this post features a Flighthand photo of Bruce, the story belongs to everyone in the room, honoring the legacy of service, sacrifice, and aviation history they collectively represent.

At Hellcat Productions, we are grateful to help document and preserve these conversations that connect past, present, and future generations of naval aviation.

As we close out the year, we’re taking a look back at where our Sea Stories began!

This pilot episode, filmed almost a year ago, introduced the creative minds behind the series. David Van Der Like, retired US Navy pilot and retired airline pilot, and Ben Van Der Like, an active Chief Mate in the Merchant Marines, set out to merge two worlds they know well aviation and maritime.

From the start, Hellcat Hangar Sea Stories has focused on story driven episodes that are both engaging and educational. Drawing from a wide network of storytellers, the series shares voices and experiences that are rarely heard, from TOPGUN graduates to harbor pilots and many perspectives in between.

This early episode also captures progress on the Hellcat Hangar mural by Daniela, a look at a rare piece of naval history with Hill Goodspeed, Deputy Director of the National Naval Aviation Museum, and a conversation with Dr. Judy Bense, President Emeritus of the University of West Florida, on the history and importance of Pensacola Bay and the Port of Pensacola.

Tune in below!

“I always felt the mission of the Blue Angels was to inspire folks to be a part of something greater than themselves.”

In this video, Scott Goossens, a former Blue Angel, shares what that mission has meant to him and how the idea of serving something larger than yourself continues to resonate long after wearing the uniform. Stories like this are why we do what we do at Hellcat. We are constantly inspired by the experiences, reflections, and voices of those who have lived it.
