Heres a colorized photo of the 1955 Muscogee wharf fire, which was a massive inferno that decimated the historic Pensacola waterfront. Built in the 1880s, the wharf was primarily used to load coal from Alabama onto ships for export. Its destruction permanently ended the city's commercial coal shipping era and left behind the iconic concrete pilings still visible from the Pensacola Bay Bridge.
