☕️🎨 Pensacola’s coffee community came together tonight at the Rex Theatre to celebrate four years of The Rex Cafe with a Latte Art Competition showcasing some of the area’s most talented baristas.

Rex Café Manager Lois Renaud shared that the event was about more than coffee, it was about bringing people together through coffee, art, and community.

“We wanted to gather coffee shops, customers, and everyone who has supported us over the years and celebrate what coffee can do to connect people,” he said.

When asked what makes the coffee at Rex Café so special, Lois pointed to one thing: care.

“We’re obsessed with the details,” he laughed. “If someone enjoys a latte on Monday, they should be able to come back on Friday and have that same experience. Consistency matters.”

Tonight’s competition highlighted the skill, practice, and craftsmanship behind every beautifully poured latte.

While many customers only see the finished cup, Lois emphasized the countless hours baristas spend perfecting their technique.

“It’s a way to showcase the beauty of espresso and perfectly steamed milk, but it’s also a way to recognize and appreciate the baristas who work so hard behind the scenes.”

Congratulations to The Fox Coffee Shop in Auburn, Alabama, and their winning barista, Matthew, on taking first place in the competition!

And a BIG congratulations to Rex Café on four incredible years! Thank you for creating a space where great coffee, creativity, and community continue to thrive. ❤️☕️

Bill Bond Baseball has long been a familiar part of the Pensacola community, even as youth sports continue to evolve.

Through it all, young players learn lessons that stretch far beyond the field.

For Stephen Clarke, those lessons are what matter most. Clarke, who has served four years as president of the league and is also a board member of Pensacola Sports, has seen firsthand how a simple rec program can shape kids in ways that go well beyond wins and losses.
