🐠 Old signposts are getting a brand new life underwater.

Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties have teamed up on a "reef-cycling" project that turns damaged metal signposts into micro-habitats for fish and invertebrates, built right into concrete artificial reef modules.

Welding students from George Stone Technical College are hands-on in the transformation, giving them real-world experience while helping expand the region's artificial reef network.

🐊 Beer, wildlife, and a whole lot of gator chats. Croctoberfest is back at Gulfarium.

This 21-and-up Oktoberfest celebration returns Saturday, September 19, from 6 to 9 p.m., with unlimited tastings from more than 20 breweries, wineries and distilleries, live music from Highstrung Hammocks, local food vendors, and after-hours access to reptile meet-and-greets, gator chats and animal training demonstrations.

VIP guests get early entry at 5:30 p.m. plus an exclusive event T-shirt, and a portion of proceeds benefits the Crocodile Research Coalition's conservation work.

Pensacola Yacht Club will host the 2026 Viper 640 North American Championship Sept. 30–Oct. 4, bringing some of the top high-performance sailors from across the U.S. and Canada to our waters.
