I don’t really talk about myself on this account much. I usually just post pictures that I take. You all know me as Ethan. It’s the name I’ve been called since I was born. It’s who I am supposed to be. About a year ago, I realized my name didn’t fit me and yesterday I had my name legally changed to Aubrey.

I am a trans woman. This realization set in motion so much change in the last year. I barely know how I have managed to make it this far but I am so ready to keep evolving into the new me.

It’s been a difficult time for me, but at least I know more about myself. I am still the same person who loves photography, design, and video, but I am also a woman. And my name is Aubrey.

I just happened to be in the path of the recent annular solar eclipse on Saturday so I had to break out my camera. I took these pictures while I was in Albuquerque for the . I managed to get these pictures right before I had to leave.

The cherry blossoms in the Washington DC area are at their peak! I haven’t gotten the opportunity to go into DC to take pictures of them yet, but I was able to take some pictures of the trees around my neighborhood.

As the sun started dipping toward the horizon, I captured the last rays of its light as it shone on the flowers of these cherry blossoms.

As the light faded over Great Falls National Park, water cascaded over the steep, jagged rocks that make Great Falls so distinct.

Great Falls is a waterfall in the Potomac River that is about 15 miles outside of Washington, D.C. In 1785, the Patowmack Banal began operating to allow small barges to bypass the falls and distribute goods along the Potomac river.

I looked into the tree canopy and saw this barred owl, so naturally I ran and grabbed my camera. I had heard the owl's calls in the night before but this was the first time I saw it.

The call of the barred owl sounds a lot the phrase "who-cooks-for-you", but its definitely not cooking for you since it eats raw small mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

Barred owls are also lazy bums and don’t go anywhere--just like us. They don't migrate, and their territories are only about 700 acres.

I went outside for a walk around the pond last night and took some pictures of this beautifully colored wasp, which I believe is a blue winged wasp, or Scolia dubia. The blue winged wasp is a great pollinator and it hunts beetles like the Japanese and June Beetle. They usually don’t sting unless they’re threatened. I was taking pictures of this one for 10 minutes I and never felt threatened.

This is a Ruppell's griffon vulture, the highest flying bird in the world. While Ruppell's griffon vulture is a critically endangered species, they play a very important role in keeping Africa's ecosystems healthy by eating carrion.

I saw these vultures near the Cheetah exhibit at the Smithsonian Zoo.

This t**i monkey that I saw at the Smithsonian Zoo is Kingston. She is there with the zoo's other t**i monkey, Henderson.

T**i monkeys are monkeys that spend most of their lives in trees, so they move by climbing and jumping through the trees. They usually stay around rivers in the lower canopy of the trees.
