We know… buying travel insurance isn't the most exciting part of planning a cruise. But it can be one of the most important things to consider.

Travel insurance can help protect you from unexpected expenses related to things like:

🛏️ USE THE SPACE UNDER YOUR BED FOR YOUR LUGGAGE!

One of the easiest ways to make your cruise cabin feel less cluttered is to slide your empty suitcases under the bed.

Once you've unpacked:

🧳 Collapse your luggage
🛏️ Slide it under the bed
👟 Keep your closet and floor space clear
🚶 Enjoy a little more room to move around!

Pro Tip: If your suitcase doesn't fit, check that the bed isn't sitting on luggage or another item underneath. Your stateroom attendant can often help if you're having trouble.

That space under the bed is prime cruise-cabin real estate! 😉

One of our favorite parts of being on a cruise is all the food options—and yes, sometimes you just need a good old-fashioned burger! 🍔 Jonny Rockets is our favorite cheeseburger on board!

Before you even leave home, use the app to:

⏰ Find your check-in time
🍽️ Review dining options
🎭 Browse onboard activities
🗺️ Explore the ship
📋 Complete required check-in information
📸 Have important cruise details handy

Pro Tip: Take a few minutes before your trip to explore the app. You’ll be much more comfortable using it once you’re onboard—and you’ll know where to find the information you need!

🚢 Cruise Tip of the Day — First-Time Cruisers

🍹 NO DRINK PACKAGE? YOU STILL CAN’T JUST HAND THE BARTENDER YOUR CREDIT CARD!

If you're sailing on Royal Caribbean and you don't have a beverage package, don't expect to pull out your credit card when you order a drink at the bar.

Royal Caribbean uses a cashless SeaPass system for onboard purchases. Your drink is charged to your onboard account, which is linked to the credit card or other payment method you set up for your SeaPass account.

So when you order that cocktail, b**r, or glass of w**e:

🍹 Order your drink
💳 Present your SeaPass Card
🧾 The charge goes onto your onboard account
💰 Your onboard charges are ultimately settled through the payment method attached to your account

First-time cruiser tip: Keep your SeaPass Card with you when you're walking around the ship. You'll need it for purchases, including drinks if you don't have a beverage package.

And if you do have a beverage package, you'll also need your SeaPass Card when ordering drinks so the bar staff can verify your package.

🏈🚢 FOOTBALL SEASON IS HERE… BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR FAVORITE TEAM PLAYS WHILE YOU’RE ON A CRUISE?

If you're a football fan, cruising during football season can be a little tricky. You’re on vacation, but you also really want to watch the game! 😂

The good news? Watching NFL football on a Royal Caribbean cruise is much easier than it used to be, especially on ships with Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade.

But there are still a few things you need to know:

🏈 Your favorite game may be competing with other big games
🍔 Playmakers can get busy for popular matchups
⏰ Time zones can change when your game kicks off
⚓ Your team might be playing while you're in port
📺 And you may need a backup plan if the game you want isn't being shown where you expect

🇲🇽 Cruising to Mexico on a Budget — Part 4: THE FINAL BILL! 🚢💰

We’re back home, the cruise is over, and now it’s time to see if our budget plan actually worked! 👀💵

Yesterday we left the ship and took a look at our final onboard bill…

🥁 DRUMROLL PLEASE…

We spent just $102 over the entire weekend! 🎉

And here's what that $102 included:

🛍️ A few small purchases in the merchant shops
🍟 A couple of food items from the Pub
💵 That's it!

We stuck to the plan we talked about before the cruise:

🚢 Stayed onboard while in port
🍽️ Ate in the Main Dining Room
🎭 Enjoyed the complimentary activities
🌊 Enjoyed the ship without constantly spending extra money

And honestly, it worked really well for us!

🎰 What About the Casino?

Yes, we did spend some time in the casino. 😉

But there's an important distinction.

We were playing with house money, so our casino play did not contribute to that $102 in overall spending.

That's another reason we like looking at the actual final bill when we talk about our cruise budget. It shows what we actually charged to our account rather than lumping everything together.

💡 So, Was This Really a Budget Cruise?

For us, absolutely.

The goal wasn't to see if we could spend $0.

The goal was to enjoy a 3-day cruise without feeling like we had to spend money at every opportunity.

We didn't book a shore excursion.

We didn't pay for transportation around the port.

We didn't eat specialty dining.

We didn't spend money on activities that were already included.

Instead, we took advantage of what we had already paid for.

And that made $102 feel like a pretty successful weekend! 🙌

🧳 KNOW HOW YOU'RE GETTING OFF THE SHIP BEFORE THE LAST DAY!

Don't wait until the final night of your cruise to figure out your debarkation plan!

Your cruise line will typically provide information about the different ways you can leave the ship, and knowing your options ahead of time can make the end of your vacation SO much less stressful.

Before the last day, find out:

🚗 Are you being picked up?
🚕 Will you need a taxi or rideshare?
🚌 Are you using cruise-line transportation?
🧳 Are you collecting your own luggage or using luggage assistance?
✈️ What time is your flight?
⏰ What time do you need to be off the ship?

💡 Our tip: Don't just assume you'll figure it out the morning you leave. Review the debarkation information, make your transportation plans, and give yourself plenty of time.

A little planning before the last day can make the end of your cruise much more pleasant! 🚢❤️

🧳 DEBARKATION DAY? LET YOUR STATEROOM ATTENDANT GET TO WORK!

Once you've gathered your belongings and you're ready to leave the ship, don't hang around in your stateroom!

Your stateroom attendant has a LOT to do before the next guests arrive. 🧹🛏️

Thousands of passengers are getting off the ship, and the crew has a limited amount of time to:

🛏️ Clean and reset the stateroom
🧼 Sanitize the bathroom
🧺 Replace linens and towels
🧴 Restock supplies
✨ Get everything ready for the next cruisers

💡 Our tip: Once you're packed and you've done your final sweep for anything you might have forgotten, leave your stateroom and head to one of the designated public areas to wait for your group to be called.

Don't sit on the balcony enjoying one last coffee. 😂
Don't hang out in the hallway.
And don't wait until the very last minute to leave.

Your stateroom attendant will appreciate being able to start turning the room over right away! ❤️

Remember: Your vacation may be ending, but their workday is just getting started.
