Man, back in the day it wasn’t easy to find info on recording engineering.

If you wanted to learn, you really had to dig. You had to buy books, read forums, ask questions, and figure things out on your own.

Over the years I picked up a few tools that helped me a lot on my journey as an engineer. These five books right here were a big part of that.

I’m leaving them here as a resource for younger mixers who want to understand why certain pieces of gear were used and what made them special and how to adapt them into today’s standards.

We had the most wonderful experience recording my daughter’s first vocal song at R & J Recording Studios. From the moment we walked in, Rick made us feel completely at ease — warm, welcoming, and truly professional.Rick was incredibly patient and supportive, guiding her through every step of the process and making sure her voice was captured beautifully. This was my very first studio session that I ever attended. I was featuring a song with my brother in Christ and I was very nervous. Rick went above and beyond. He has 25 years experience and a college degree in this field 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ! He was so patient kind understanding his art to mix and master is God ordained. He truly is talented. There is no bathroom so be aware of that. I look forward to doing my own thing independently with him !!! Thank you so much Rick ! God bless you 🩵👏🏽
