This is not a type of post I enjoy making. It may have a few of you choosing to leave our page, and right now that is perfectly fine with me.
Honestly, to those who feel we are just ‘asking for handouts’ without utilizing the resources available to us or being appropriately depressed (meaning, we shouldn’t find joy in any way), you don't know us or anything about our situation. In fact, the people who believe and express these things know less about us than most of those following our page. Secondly, and this may come as a shock, but you can just… not contribute to us. You don’t even have to leave mean and judgmental comments. Really.
Also, if you believe we should not go on adventures or find ways to make our child, and ourselves, happy in the brief periods of time when Jareth feels well enough to do so…kindly, f**k off. You don’t see what happens behind closed doors. You don’t see how depressed he gets. You have no idea whether our adventures are through one of the cancer kid programs we are a part of. You have no way to know who is footing the bill or if the fun day we had was gifted to us, and we do not have to explain ourselves or justify a damn thing. You don’t know anything that we don’t include in our public posts, and that just does not show the full picture.
But, guess what, doing what we can to improve his mental health is part of caring for him.
Again, if you do not want to help and support us, then DON’T. We don’t expect anyone to bankroll our life. We ask for assistance when we need it, and on the off chance we seek help with an adventure, we are VERY clear about that in the post. We know we are not the only ones struggling, and we would never want someone to help if it hurts them in any way.
To those who have treated us poorly or talked s**t, you do not deserve access to us or our story. And truthfully, we can already see who actually cares about us, and you are not among them. I hope you have the day you deserve.
