The Affordable Housing Committee, a subcommittee of the EDA, is pleased to announce that the Peterborough Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment have approved the applications for Catholic Charities New Hampshire ("CCNH") to proceed with the redevelopment of two vacant office buildings on Vose Farm Road and the construction of a new one to accommodate a total of 96 affordable rental apartments.
According to their plan:
46 of the units will be 1-bedroom.
50 units will be 2-bedroom.
The property will feature laundry facilities, common/activity space, on-site resident services, and property management offices.
Access to the Contoocook River via natural pathways is also planned for residents and the community to enjoy.
Rent, including utilities, will be calculated at 30% of a household’s annual income. Households with certified incomes of up to 50% and 60% of the area median income, as determined by the New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority, will qualify based on availability.
Based on the type of financing that CCNH is seeking and deed restrictions on the property, these apartments will remain affordable in perpetuity.
Monadnock at Home may relocate their office to this new facility.
CCNH is a non-profit entity that, in furtherance of its charitable mission, has been providing health care, housing, and social services throughout the State of New Hampshire to people of all ages, backgrounds and beliefs for over 75 years. Among other programs, CCNH operates the state-wide food bank and Monadnock at Home, a regional program that helps aging adults in Peterborough and surrounding communities remain healthy, productive, and independent in their homes.
