There’s just something special about our little square in Petersburg. 🤎

We are so lucky to have a downtown filled with charm, character, and such a fun variety of locally owned businesses. There are places to grab coffee or breakfast, shop, eat, gather, and support the people who make our community what it is.

One of my favorite parts about having my real estate office right here near the square? Being able to walk over to Café Amulet , grab breakfast and a drink, and then head back to the office to start the day. ☕️✨ It’s the little things that make working in the community you love feel pretty special.

Petersburg may be a small town, but our square has so much personality packed into it. If you haven’t spent a morning or afternoon wandering around downtown lately, consider this your sign! This weekend is the perfect opportunity, as downtown Petersburg will be hosting Harvestfest!

📢 LISTEN UP‼️
The agent you choose matters more than you probably realize.

We talk a lot about interviewing agents when you're selling a home.

But buyers? Too often, choosing an agent happens almost accidentally.

You click “Tour This Home.” You call the number on a sign. You message the first agent who pops up online. & suddenly, that person may be helping you navigate one of the largest financial transactions of your life.

Here's what I wish more people understood:

Your agent's actions don't only affect you. They can affect everyone on the other side of the transaction, too.

One misunderstood term.
One contract not read carefully enough.
One deadline missed.
One negotiation communicated incorrectly.
One “Your offer has been accepted!” text sent before everything has been thoroughly reviewed.

And suddenly, two innocent families can be dealing with the consequences and become collateral damage of the actions of an incompetent agent.

Imagine being a buyer who is told your offer has been accepted... you sign the paperwork and start celebrating, only to later learn there was a misunderstanding about the terms... not by the seller, but by the seller's agent.

Now imagine being the seller on the other side.

You may have a ready, willing and qualified buyer who genuinely wants your home, but a breakdown in communication by the professional you hired to represent you with reasonable care has created a problem that neither you nor the buyer caused.

The buyer could lose the house.

The seller could lose the buyer.

The deal could fall apart.

Someone could end up spending more money. Someone could end up losing more money.

& two parties who may have otherwise been perfectly capable of reaching an agreement can suddenly find themselves back at the negotiating table.

That's why choosing your real estate agent shouldn't be an afterthought, on EITHER side of the transaction.

Agents are human. We make mistakes. I will never pretend otherwise. But there is a difference between expecting perfection and expecting professionalism, attention to detail, communication, accountability and reasonable care.

‼️ Misunderstanding an offer because you were multi-tasking & on the phone while negotiating one of the biggest financial decisions of your client's life is UNACCEPTABLE.‼️

So interview us.

Whether you're buying or selling, ask questions.

Ask about experience. Ask how we negotiate. Ask how offers are reviewed and communicated. Ask what systems we have in place. Ask who supports us when we're juggling multiple transactions. Ask what happens when something goes sideways.

And don't be afraid to interview multiple agents, including me.

Don't hire me because you saw my sign.

Don't hire someone else because a website happened to connect you with them first.

Make us earn your trust.

Because when everything goes perfectly, it's easy for almost any agent to look good.

It's when a transaction gets complicated that you find out the value of who you hired.

Opening a door is easy.
Putting a sign in a yard is easy.

Protecting your client's interests when hundreds of thousands of dollars, a home, and two families are on the line?

That's the where you discover if your agent is truly capable of the job. Don't wait until a problem arises to realize whether they are competent. Ask about the tough stuff before you sign that agreement to hire them.

Not all agents are created equally, and they most certainly do not all hold themselves to the same standard of care...

This Sunday, we’re especially grateful.

Grateful for the communities that continue to support us. Grateful for every client who trusts us with such an important chapter of their life. Grateful for new opportunities, busy schedules, open doors, and the privilege of doing work that we genuinely love.

And today is a pretty perfect picture of what that looks like. 🏡

✨ Kylie is hosting an Open House at Dakota’s listing at 423 E. Jefferson St., Riverton from 1–3 PM.

✨ Luke is hosting an Open House at Samantha’s listing at 2229 S. 6th St., Springfield from 1–3 PM.

✨ I’m heading to a listing appointment for a beautiful property coming up on Lake Petersburg. 👀🌊

✨ And throughout the team, there are numerous showings happening and offers on the table for the clients we’re representing.

There are a lot of moving pieces behind the scenes, but we never want to get so busy that we forget why we get to be busy.

Because people choose us. They refer us. They trust us with their homes, their finances, their families, their next chapters, and sometimes some of the biggest decisions they’ll ever make.

We don’t take that lightly.

We’re proud to be a power team & to us, that means so much more than numbers or transactions. It means having a team of people who care deeply about our clients, our communities, each other, and God. 🤍
