The snow and freezing drizzle we are seeing this morning should go away soon, as our winter weather advisory ends at 10am this morning. However, roads are covered and slick at this time. Good New Year's Eve, Eve! Johnny Miller here, and we'll see more snow this afternoon as a winter weather advisory will start up for a few counties this afternoon. We'll still see snow and blowing snow, but not like yesterday, so visibility could still be an issue. With that said, please take it slow on the roads and stay safe.

Snow showers will gradually weaken later this morning before picking up again this afternoon and continuing through Wednesday. An additional 4-8” is expected across parts of northwest lower and eastern upper by Wednesday evening with localized higher amounts possible. Snow covered roads and low visibility under snow bands may result in hazardous travel at times this evening and on Wednesday.

As our winter storm warning continues, so does the snow and hight winds. Many roads are snow covered and icy. Blowing snow will continute to cause visibility issues. Take it slowly, and stay safe.

Strong winter storm continues to produce moderate to heavy snow/blowing snow and strong winds across the area this morning. Poor visibility at times and snow covered roadways will result in dangerous travel.

Good Monday morning. Johnny Miller with you, and do be careful as you are heading out this morning. High winds, snow and blowing snow, slippery roads and whiteout conditions are going to make travel challenging. Stay safe and have a great day!

A major winter storm will continue to impact northern Michigan, bringing dangerous travel conditions to much of the area. Heavy snow and strong winds gusting to 45-55+ mph are expected to create localized blizzard conditions across open areas at times from mid-morning into early afternoon. Drifting snow may make travel especially difficult on secondary roadways. Power outages will also be possible, especially across areas that experienced icing on Sunday. Be sure to use extreme caution if having to travel across northern Michigan today!

News on power outages in Charlevoix County. We’ve also received word that high-profile vehicles are receiving wind escorts over the Mackinac Bridge and GFL recycling trucks have been pulled off the road. Please use extreme caution if you are out driving today.
