J.B. Rail Photog I enjoys taking photos/videos of trains and sharing other interesting content. It really all began in early 2016. Fast forward 30 years and here I am.

I discovered a local Facebook group called Louisville Railfanning. I had always been a railfan but actually being able to be engaged with local railfans was even more awesome. I always thought trains were amazing since I was 3 or 4 years old watching trains as they passed on the CSX CC Line through Corbin, KY, and Lily, KY, when they still had cabooses. I already had a camera and a couple lenses a

nd occasionally would take pictures with my iPhone camera. Then I discovered spots locally where I could shoot (I already loved photography anyways) and then I discovered spots outside of Louisville, KY, thanks to others hints and getting to know people in this hobby. I started this page around March or April of 2017 and have built it to almost 800 likes. I hope to continue to be able to provide unique shots in a variety of neat locations and inspire up and coming railfans.

Huge thanks to everyone who has pitched in so far-we've officially mapped 39 community-submitted hotspots!
The interactive map is filling out fast, but there are still plenty of killer locations, diamonds, and heritage spots missing.

A Delta A321 lands at O’Hare International Airport in the background, while an abandoned E9AM is left to rot away in the back of an industrial complex. This E9AM has a neat backstory since It was originally built as a CB&Q E8A In 1953, and It began It’s life on the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad as CB&Q 9973. Then the locomotive continued its life on the Burlington Northern and was rebuilt as BN E9AM 9907 for passenger service between Chicago and Aurora on Metras Burlington Northern line. Since Metra and Burlington Northern retired the E9’s in 1992 for the arrival of the Metra F40s, after its life on the Burlington Northern and Metra it spent Its last days of service with the Maryland Transit Administration (MARC) as the MARC 67 & 91 in the 1990s. After MARC was done with it, the Wisconsin & Southern bought and scavenged it for parts to restore some of their E-units at the time.

After its final days of being a locomotive for parts, this engine wasn’t scrapped. Instead, was moved to Bensenville along with many other Metra Bi-Levels that sit abandoned on Progressive Rail trackage to rust and deteriorate away.

1992 Metro-North P32AC-DM GENESIS Series Passenger Locomotive is up For Auction

Listing: Metro North is retiring Genesis locomotive #226 model P32AC-DM. The locomotive is in good condition and described as running....but must be inspected by the buyer for confirmation.....NO mechanical inquiries. Questions will not be replied to.

The locomotive is sold "AS IS WHERE IS", and Metro North offers no guarantee or warranty. Buyers are responsible to inspect prior to bidding for best determination of condition. Fuel is DIESEL. The tank has approximately 1000 gallons of fuel in it. Metro North will not remove the fuel.
