Barker's team agreed to tattoos if 'Obsession' opened to $20 million. It made $17 million. The second weekend made $27 million, which horror does not do, and the film finished on $512.6 million worldwide against a $750,000 budget.

Barker called Bear a passive antagonist and reshot to make his effort clearer. Next he writes and directs A24's 'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre'. Inde Navarrette plays Rogue in Marvel's 'X-Men', and says she is pitching her own projects and wants to produce and direct.

It’s called THE INFLUENCER PROJECT.

The film follows influencer Chiara King, who travels to Copenhagen with a documentary crew to show the “real” life behind online fame.

Then the stalking begins and so does the creepiness.

The story is inspired by real events surrounding King’s own experience with a stalker. 😳

So the woman playing an influencer being stalked on camera is also someone who has actually experienced stalking in real life.

And behind the film are Eduardo Sánchez and Gregg Hale; the filmmakers behind The Blair Witch Project. The movie- NO, the STAPLE, that helped turn found footage into a horror phenomenon.

❤️✨ The year flew by, and it feels like that STXIFF energy is heavy in the air again.

STXIFF is happening this weekend in lovely and film-friendly Edinburg, Texas and today we wanted to give them a little CineSurge love. ❤️

I’ve been watching this festival for years, and as somebody who has spent nearly two decades working in film and organizing events/screenings/events, I know how much goes into getting one of these things across the finish line.
There are a LOT of moving parts behind the scenes that nobody ever sees, and then suddenly the doors open and there are filmmakers, audiences and movies everywhere.

This year’s program is packed, with films coming out of the RGV, Texas, and BEYOND . There are features, shorts, documentaries, student films, Q&As, workshops, panels, the screenplay pitch competition and the 48-Hour Film Race.

And some really inspiring onscreen talent are here too! Edward James Olmos, Valente Rodríguez, and Dannie McCallum are here!❤️‍🔥 That alone is enough to get off your couch and in the room with some creatives.

We love seeing filmmakers get a weekend where their work gets to be the main event. If you’re going to STXIFF, actually go explore the program and take a chance on a film you’ve never heard of. You might walk out having found your new favorite movie, or meet a filmmaker whose work you’ll be following from here on out.

And to all of the filmmakers screening this year: congratulations. Getting a film finished is an accomplishment all by itself, and getting to sit in a theater and watch an audience experience it is the payoff.
