Good morning widow warriors,

It’s time to get. Serious about protecting yourself. It’s not only dating scams you need to be aware of. SCAMS have worked their way into every part of our lives.

You would think it would lessen. Right after your spouse passes you get the calls from real estate brokers, bankers, investment and insurance people. They read the obits. But I must say it’s been 14 years and slowly but surely it’s everywhere.

Our world has changed and it’s not going back. Everyday life. We are a target. In business. In life. In dating.

We are looked at as vulnerable. Old. Not savvy. Lonely.

Keep your antenna up. Trust has gone by the wayside.

No one understands that empty chair until it happens to you.

BE SAFE. Need to talk …..

We have one shot at life. Get out today. Find an event. Take a walk.

Remaining locked up in house can give you depression and loneliness. Not saying it is easy.

Don’t decline social situations. Just because you are alone. You will feel better. Today being Memorial Day there are events all over honoring the fallen.

Remember we are free because of someone’s service to this country.

To my widow warriors,

Learned helplessness often has two sources

Pre-loss relationship dynamics where everything was handled by your partner. That’s the life I lived. Very Italian marriage. Husband took care of everything. I cooked and cleaned.

Post-loss experiences. Where grief, being overwhelmed and feeling we can’t manage. That was me.

You learn to be strong and take care of things. You make mistakes. It’s hit and miss for quite some time.

I would like to hear from other widows who are experiencing this.

Hopefully I can give you some pointers. If you are stuck, reach out.

Beware of dating scams and how to spot a romance scam:

FAST moving relationships.

REQUESTS for money. I.E. medical emergency, travel expenses or BAIL.

REQUESTS for personal info.

PRESSURE to move conversations off dating platform.

It is unfortunate you cannot trust anyone. It is sad.

Good afternoon

Did you know that 800,000 people are widowed each year and 700,000 of those people are women.

Did you know that death of a spouse is #1 stressor on stress index.

Did you know the average age of widow is 59.

With that said the grieving process is unique to each individual. It’s not a fixed timeline SHOCK. DENIAL. ANGER. FEAR. And ANXIETY …. To name a few can last months. A year. It’s different for everyone.

And yeah talked to some widows who say it lasts long term.

With time and support you can find new meaning and purpose.

Good Morning,

Things you don’t get told after someone dies:

1. You will learn very quickly who matters.

2. You lose weight. You gain weight. You may not sleep.
You might get ill.
GRIEF in early stages is so physical.

3. Grief brain lasts for a very long time. Short term memory loss
Goes for a while too.

4. It’s nothing like it is in the movies.

5. YOU will be changed as a person in so many ways.

I would like to give you info on Credit Freeze to protect yourself from identity fraud …

A credit freeze, also known as security freeze, restricts access to your credit report preventing a lender and others from accessing to open new credit accounts in your name which can help protect against identity theft.

You can submit requests on line by phone or email.

There are three major credit reporting agencies:

Equifax. Experian. TransUnion.

THIS WILL HAVE NO effect on credit score. A credit freeze can be lifted.
There is no charge for credit freeze.
