UMM was never a one person project or vision. UMM was built off the sweat, love and dedication of so many brothers and sisters. Some have moved on others may have made their transitions. Everyone has their own experience and story as it relates to The United Muslim Masjid / Movement. For so many of us it was more than a building on 15th street it was our home. It’s where we learnt our religion, prayed, got married and even divorced. Friday nights on Webster Street was always packed and the lights from the side of the masjid were always on. You either had the the scouts going on or a lecture. It was a place that we called home, you knew the brothers and the sisters and you respectively call them not by their first name but brother or sister so and so.
