On Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 we did it again. We met with State Rep. Jared Solomon (his mother was Colleen's Special Education teacher from Joseph J. Greenberg School) Colleen, and her Peer Support Worker Mary Beth Morgan of Liberty Resources. We met in the name of Art & Design, Community Engagement, & Re-Beautification within a neighborhood.

The Topic was America's 1st "Neuroinclusion & Neurodiversity Mural in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. The building is associated with "The Beacon Cottman Avenue," of Northeast Philadelphia not on the old Beneficial Bank building but the newer building built during the pandemic from the ground up.

No one thought about taking a picture, like we did while we were in Harrisburg, June 2nd, 2025 with a group. So that is the image which is added below. Both Colleen & Mary Beth Morgan collaborated together and allowed for the to have a group inside of Liberty Resources with the help of her boss. Both individuals and one other admin of the group are present on Thursday's for Arts Group.

Colleen started the AACOP in May/April 2022, while receiving services at another place as well, as she still does today. This was a big effort for C.R.O., as the AACOP started out as a Goal.

The Wall was an Idea from August 5th 2023 when Jane Golden came to the Mural Arts Philadelphia's The Tacony LAB Community Arts Center for a Mosaic Mural Dedication of 's
Laura Lyn Stern / Sculptural Designs. When Jane mentioned that more Murals were coming into the Northeast Section of Philadelphia Colleen Sketched what is now the Month of April's Autism Acceptance Flag which is a reflection of Neurodiversity & Autism Acceptance ALL together. Colleen remembered what makes a great wall, having had worked at Mural Mural Arts Philadelphia while stationed to work there while serving a year with City Year with Philadelphia's founding Corps in 1997-1998.

Colleen E-Mailed have had been reconnected once again with Jane, back in November 15, 2022. How did she get here, she was at a Disability Summit September 22, 2022 held inside of Temple University, Hosted by KenCrest, The Arc of Philadelphia, Institute on Disabilities at Temple University, College of Education among others. Two days prior Mrs. Ott was at two other events and had bumped into Rep. Joe Hohenstein who asked if she had a location yet? Ott stated, No, but we were looking to utilize the Viable Recreation Centers of City of Philadelphia & the Community Room in side of Free Library of Philadelphia - throughout the City. Rep. Joe mentioned that he had a better idea, then mentioned about The Tacony LAB Community Arts Center.

Some people have been asking for the back story about how all of The Autistic Art Coalition of Philadelphia came about.
Or
The Idea of the Mural other than, "NOW is the Time," to do this Mural.

The meeting.... Fingers Crossed!

We share this for our "Autistic Elders," yes ELDERS, you see we do not grow out of Autism. Autism is always there, while individuals might notice that we might have less malfunctions/meltdowns. Perhaps that is because society is not as demanding of Auties as much with jumping into the box of social norms. Because the vast population is more ACCEPTING of Autistic Individuals Thanks to Our Mayor Cherelle L. Parker who Presented us with the Proclamation for March for "Intellectual & Developmental Disability Acceptance Month, Philadelphia City Councilmembers as a Whole that Signed the April 3rd Resolution, (Councilmember Kendra Brooks, Councilman Anthony Phillips) & Our Pennsylvania Office of the Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro for the Proclamation for Autism Acceptance as well. History of ACCEPTANCE in Pennsylvania. Grateful!

We are about 2 weeks out from our first Senior Expo!!

This October, my team and I are hosting four Seniors Expos across the district to connect older neighbors with the resources and services they deserve. From health care and housing to utility assistance and safety programs, these events are about making sure every senior has access to the tools they need to live with dignity and peace of mind. I hope you’ll join us, meet our community partners, and take advantage of the information and support available right here at home!
