🎨 | Year in Rewind 2025
2025 was a landmark year for The Autistic Art Coalition of Philadelphia ( ), with events and exhibitions held throughout Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley.

We proudly presented our 5th Art Exhibition at Philadelphia City Hall, spanning two floors:
4th Floor – The People’s Floor
2nd Floor – The Mayor’s Floor
On this same day, AACOP received a Proclamation from Madam Mayor Cherelle L. Parker, officially naming March 2025 as Intellectual & Developmental Disability Acceptance Month.

On April 3, 2025, Colleen accepted—on behalf of AACOP—a City Resolution declaring April as Autism Acceptance Month. Introduced by nicorourkephl, for Councilmember Kendra Brooks-Mack
This marked the first year the City of Philadelphia Government officially removed the word “Awareness” from the resolution.
Our 5th Art Exhibition was on display from February 28 through April 25, 2025. This slideshow includes images from a special field trip to City Hall, where Colleen and artists from the Liberty Resources class toured the exhibition and City Hall with Tu Huynh, Curator at Creative Philadelphia.
We continued the momentum with:
6th Art Exhibition at Mural Arts Philadelphia’s Tacony LAB Community Arts Center
7th Art Exhibition at State Representative Joseph C. Hohenstein Temple University Disability Summit
📚 Education & Advocacy
AACOP taught over 150 classes across two locations in 2025.
Colleen (AACOP), Mary Beth Morgan (Liberty Resources Inc.), and Barb Baur presented together on a panel at the 47th Developmental Disability Conference at CHOP.
🎭 Community Partnerships & Cultural Events
AACOP sponsored AACOP artist and Indigenous muralist Priscilla Bell Lamberty at Indigenous Peoples Day at Penn Treaty Park, in partnership with IDPhilly.
Colleen was invited to the Mural Arts Wall Ball, attending with community partner Barb Baur of Tacony LAB.
AACOP was invited to the VIP City of Inclusion Planning Event for 2026 at Independence LIVE, with Colleen attending alongside AACOP Office Administrator Tracey Brock.
🎉 Closing the Year Together
Our 2025 Holiday Party was held at Tacony LAB Community Arts Center, welcoming community partners from:
Vision for Equality
Speaking For Ourselves
Supportive Behavioral Resources
And members of our wider community

This is our ad for giving Tuesday allows for others to pay it forward, which helps us to replenish our supplies. For each person who gives towards The Autistic Art Coalition Of Philadelphia when we have our 8th Art Exhibition we will give a free ticket to that show. When planning is complete and we have an official date whether it is in December, January or back to our regular February. We tried to outdo previous years each year. There is a good possibility that our next show will be in December but we are not 100% sure yet. So anybody who donates to us we will give a free ticket to our next art show with a-merch-surprise.

Was Asked to Re-Share - in Messenger

We are deeply grateful to share that The Attic Youth Center has been nominated by Philly Gives and the Philadelphia Foundation as one of this year’s featured nonprofits!

This nomination is more than recognition — it’s a celebration of community, compassion, and the collective belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. For nearly three decades, The Attic has been Philadelphia’s only independent LGBTQ+ youth center, providing safe spaces, life-changing resources, and a sense of belonging for thousands of young people.

We’re incredibly grateful to Philly Gives, the Philadelphia Foundation, the William Penn Foundation, and Lenfest Institute of Journalism for highlighting our mission and to everyone who continues to stand with us in this work. Learn more about Philly Gives and how it’s helping amplify our work in the latest issue of Philadelphia Gay News and the Philadelphia Inquirer!
