Thrash Media is 3 years old this month.
It still feels unreal to say that. Three years of building something from the ground up. Three years of creating, learning, growing, and pouring myself into the community that raised me.
When I started this business, I had no idea how many doors it would open or how many incredible people I would meet along the way. Some of my clients have become mentors who have guided me, challenged me, and helped me grow in ways I will always be grateful for, connections that I’ll hold near and dear for the rest of my life. I’ve worked with business owners who became friends, friends who became clients, and clients who turned into the kind of people you feel grateful just to know. Some of the best conversations, the best laughs, the best moments of encouragement I’ve had have come from the people who trusted me with their brand, their vision, their passion, and their dream. And I’ll never forget that.
It has not always been easy. Entrepreneurship is hard. There are taxes, deadlines, constant phone calls, being on call at all hours of the day, the holiday and fair seasons, and doing tasks that are not always fun but still have to be done. There is trying to keep yourself accountable, staying motivated even when you are exhausted, and juggling more responsibilities than anyone ever sees. As my only employee, every single part of this business falls on me. And there have been seasons where I had more on my plate than I could handle. Times of burnout. Times where I questioned if I was doing enough or doing it right. Times where my work was taken or used without permission and I had to move forward anyway. Somehow, every time, I managed to finish the work and give my best. And looking back, I know that strength came from God placing me exactly where I needed to be.
I have seen miracles happen through this business. God has placed me in rooms and conversations and given me opportunities that I could have never orchestrated myself. I am grateful and blessed beyond words to be where I am.
I also want to thank everyone who has supported me, even if you are not a business owner. Thank you to those who refer me. Thank you to those who tag me in posts. Thank you to those who recommend me in conversations and put my name in rooms I did not even know about. Thank you to everyone who likes, shares, and comments on my clients pages. Thank you to everyone who shops local because every purchase helps the businesses I work for which theirin helps me as well. Your support might feel small to you but it is huge to me. I see it. I notice it. And I appreciate it more than you will ever know.
Over these three years, I have been part of things I never imagined. I have worked for local government entities. I have ran a winning mayoral campaign. I have created viral content that reached several hundred thousand people. I have helped small businesses grow in real, measurable ways. And I am proud that Thrash Media has become a small part of Philadelphia’s culture and history.
All my life I have tried to live with intention and purpose. I heard a quote once that said, “Three generations from now, after you are gone, will you be remembered” and that has stayed with me. I hope that this work, this business, and the people I help will be part of what keeps my name alive long after I am gone.
I also have some very exciting projects coming up. Some I cannot reveal just yet. But Its big and will be seen by everyone. 😉 I cannot wait to share when the time is right.
Thank you for three years of trust, encouragement, support, and belief in what I do. I am honored to do this work. I am honored to tell stories that matter. And I am honored to serve this town and the people who make it home.
