Small businesses don’t usually need HR because something is already wrong—they need HR to help keep small issues from becoming expensive ones.

Clear policies. Better documentation. Stronger hiring. Tough conversations handled the right way. And someone to call when you’re thinking, “Okay… what do I do with THIS?” 😅

That’s where The Resolution Room comes in. Practical HR support without needing a full-time HR department.

If you’re growing a business and the people side is getting complicated, let’s talk.

Small business owners: When was the last time you really looked at your HR practices? 👀

HR problems usually don't start as big problems. They start with an outdated policy, inconsistent documentation, a manager who isn't sure how to handle a complaint, or an employee issue that suddenly gets complicated.

I created a FREE Small Business HR Risk Checkup to help business owners take a quick look at 10 key areas of HR risk and identify where they may need additional support.

✅ Wage & hour practices
✅ Hiring & I-9s
✅ Employee handbooks & policies
✅ Leave & accommodations
✅ Employee complaints
✅ Corrective action
✅ Terminations
✅ Manager practices — and more

No complicated HR jargon. No confusing score. Just practical questions to help you determine:

What's working? What needs attention? And where might your business be at risk?

Download the FREE Small Business HR Risk Checkup on my website:

And if the Checkup raises a few questions, that's exactly what The Resolution Room is here for.

Let's tackle the unresolved, together.

AI is already changing Human Resources—but the real question is whether we’re using it to become more effective or simply less human.

In this week’s episode of The Resolution Room, I discuss how HR professionals can responsibly navigate AI, especially in healthcare, behavioral health, and mental health environments where confidentiality, employee medical information, patient privacy, accommodations, and ethical decision-making all require additional care.

We’ll explore where AI can save time, where human judgment must remain in control, and why the goal should be to automate the paperwork—not the humanity.

🎮 What if I told you some of the best lessons about communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution don’t come from a boardroom… they come from a controller?

In the latest episode of The Resolution Room, I break down why video games are more than just entertainment. From learning how to adapt under pressure to resolving conflicts with teammates, gaming has a lot to teach us about how we handle challenges in real life.

Whether you’re a lifelong gamer, a parent who’s never understood the appeal, or someone who thinks video games are “just a waste of time,” this episode might change your perspective.

🎙️ Give it a listen, and let me know:
What’s one life lesson you’ve learned from a video game?

I’d love to hear your answers—and if you enjoy the episode, please share it with someone who could use a different perspective on gaming.

What if video games are teaching us more about conflict resolution than we realize? 🎮

Think about it: you do not beat a difficult level by reacting emotionally, blaming the controller, or repeating the same failed strategy. You pause, learn the pattern, adjust, and try again.

That same mindset applies to difficult conversations, leadership, relationships, and workplace conflict.

Video games can teach patience, teamwork, problem-solving, resilience, and the difference between reacting and responding.

Maybe gaming is not just an escape. Maybe it is practice.

Watch the video, then tell me: What video game taught you a real-life lesson?

New episode of The Resolution Room is live!

In this episode, I’m talking about one of the most misunderstood words in the workplace: harassment.

Not every uncomfortable conversation is harassment. Sometimes it’s poor leadership. Sometimes it’s accountability. And sometimes it is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

The difference matters.

This episode breaks down how to separate facts from assumptions, when to escalate concerns, and how employees and leaders can handle workplace conflict with more clarity.

Success isn’t usually one big breakthrough.

It’s the decision to keep showing up when nobody is watching.
It’s choosing discipline over excuses.
It’s having difficult conversations instead of avoiding them.
It’s getting back up after a setback and trying again.

The people we admire most aren’t always the most talented—they’re often the most consistent.

Keep going. The small actions you take today are building a future version of yourself that will thank you for not giving up.

What’s one goal you’re working toward right now?
