A post-𝗚𝗼𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗠𝗲 statement from the jazz group 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, who canceled a New Year's Eve performance at the Kennedy Center:

The Cookers would like to thank everyone who has donated to our gofundme page and who have, in general, shown love and support for our decision.

We would also like to thank the people who initially reached out to us after our decision to say they would like to show support for our cause and suggested we set up a gofundme page in the first place.

We initially asked for just enough to cover what we were told would be our potential contractual liability for cancelling at such a late date and some expenses, but we have now quickly surpassed that ask and we thank you so much for that.

We did not ask for anyone to cover our potential lost wages but it seems like some of you would like to contribute it that way so we will leave the campaign up for now.

We will hold the surplus for now until we have fulfilled all of our legal obligations and then, we will disperse the leftover donations to the individual band members to soften the blow of their lost wages.

Again, we thank you profusely.
