Richie’s story is rare in the tattoo world — he began his career as a client in the very same shop where he would later apprentice, become a tattooer, and ultimately step into ownership in 2009 alongside his longtime partner Dave Mowers.

He talks about getting his start in Brooklyn under the watch of other legends in tattooing like Tony Polito, Coney Island Freddie and his local tattoo artist Billy Knifeler. Ronnie talks about getting his first set up from Milton Zeiss and later on Huck Spaulding. We also talk about what it was like tattooing during the NYC Tattoo ban. Ronnie even tells us about him getting busted for illegal tattooing and the charge was the same as littering. Ronnie has an amazing memory for details about a crazy time in tattoo history! This is a must see for any fan of NYC tattooing.
