To KNOW your SELF, you must first BELIEVE in yourself.
I will always respect the beliefs of others. Because I remember when I was ignorant of things, I have since experienced. But, "beLIEfs" have headstones (at occupied graves) for the one who KNOWS. Just be better than yesterday's you.
I'm not a fan of beliefs, but they are necessary ...I just prefer for them to come and go quickly.

If I ever have to check anyone, I'm (initially) "cordial" in my delivery. If that doesn't work... I use the "not so cordial" approach. I haven't played baseball since middle school.

Children are the best teachers. To be able to learn from them, we must remember how to speak the language.
Our duty is to influence them to do THE WORK first. So that the rest of the time can be spent enjoying their day. If they spend the energy on enjoyment, the work will still be waiting at the end (and it's twice as hard, then, because the energy is already spent). Once they see this to be true, they will look forward to completing the work sooner (and might even find a way to enjoy it, because they are creatures that thrive on routine).
Children don't learn from what they're told. They learn from what they are shown. Don't insult their intelligence by telling them to "do as I say, not as I do." By speaking to them in this manner, you are showing them how to be a better hypocrite. Children are masters of emulation... you will only end up angry with them for growing into the person that (unintentionally) shows you WHO YOU HAVE BECOME.
Learning is NOT difficult. It's UN-learning that is the challenge. Be careful what you (or anyone else might try to) pour into your (or anyone else's) children. The earlier an idea of concept shows up, the more ingrained it becomes (as a part of their reality). Always tell them the truth. Because the longer a lie goes unchecked, the harder it is to remove.
