Did you know that Philly now has its first permanent voting-themed mural? Yes, we do! The piece is entitled “Philly Votes: Legacy in Bloom,” by artist Tai Corrienté Baucom.

She incorporates themes of spirituality, mysticism, and mythology into family-centered stories by drawing from her own personal roots and uses metaphor, fashion, and the language of flowers to show how the rights that people have today were passed down from those who fought for them.

Our partner, Philadelphia Gay News, shares more about this installation and how Philadelphia is using the power of art to encourage people to vote and BE HEARD.

Accessing health and wellness supplies can be an obstacle for many college students. CCP is working to break down these barriers with the launch of "Health Jawn" earlier this year!

"Health Jawn" is a free vending machine stocked with reproductive and sexual health supplies, such as condoms and pregnancy tests, and other “health jawns.” That includes COVID-19 tests, menstrual products, toothbrushes and hygiene items, fentanyl and xylazine testing strips, and more.

This is an amazing initiative that is actively working to improve the quality of life and experiences of CCP students!

Our partner, Grid Magazine, had a chat with a Black-led, parent-driven group called Lift Every Voice Philly. The group is urging the School District of Philadelphia to make schools more joyful and less punitive by calling for a Chief Officer of Joy and more student-centered support. Their vision puts student dignity, emotional well-being, and belonging at the core of education.

Philly’s voice matters—loud and clear. Philadelphia's sustainability movement took center stage during an event hosted by our partner, Green Philly, where leaders gathered to discuss how local residents can become more engaged in promoting environmental justice and civic action. Why? Because true change takes listening, dialogue, and action.
