FBI agent Haag and the prosecution continued their “witch hunt” attempting to portray the defendants as corrupt by using financial records of the couple and city council records showing Councilman Johnson voted for the Zoning Ordinance for the Royal Theater. FBI agent Haag, the same agent who Assistant US Attorney Eric Gibson said “regrettably and inappropriately” leaked grand jury testimony on a former high profile case in 2017, is reviewing mounds of documents, invoices, and emails about the work of Dawn Chavous. The United States Department of Justice attorney, Dubnoff, has spent the day building their case of innuendos and conjecture by reviewing emails, finances, bank statements, and court documents of the defendants. What they have yet to produce is any document, email, or record that points to any wrongdoing. The business practices of Universal Companies, Chavous Consulting, and Councilman Johnson appears to be questioned more because of their success rather than any illegal actions.

FBI Agent Richard Haag, on the witness stand for the 2nd day is pointing to financial losses of Universal in 2015 and 2016. Councilman Johnson along with his wife Dawn Chavous and 2 Universal Executives are accused of bribery which allegedly took place in 2013.

As court resumed this morning, FBI agent Haag returned to the witness stand for the 2nd day with Prosecutor Dubnoff introducing documents acquired by subpoena or search warrant many of which came from Carl Dranoff. The judge reminded the jury to keep an open mind until they have heard all testimony. Juror #1 was excused due to a family emergency leaving a pool of 16.
