A lot has been said and written about the interview with the U.S. Ambassador. The nonsensical behavior of the “Kots” (GD 🙂) is understandable, but I have more questions and criticism toward the U.S. Embassy.
Let’s pose the question: Are the U.S. Embassy and the NGOs they fund truly promoters and exporters of American values? I would argue no, and moreover, they often radiate anti-American values. Why do I think this?
1. The core American value is freedom of speech;
2. Independent, elected judges;
3. The right of individuals to defend themselves (the right to bear arms);
4. Maximally independent self-governance (as exemplified by U.S. states);
5. Elected sheriffs and prosecutors;
6. Minimal leverage of federal or state authorities over independent businesses, and so on.
You cannot name a single NGO that fights for the right to bear arms. There is no one standing guard for absolute freedom of speech. There is no NGO demanding elected judges, sheriffs, or prosecutors. Instead, there is a wide array of social-liberals, from the likes of Baia Pataraia to those defending vague gender or gay rights. Even Radio Liberty is a nest of social-liberals, and I’ll tell you, they have nothing in common with true America. These are people who couldn’t find a foothold in American society, as reflected in Trump’s landslide victory, yet they want to spread their socialist ideas in so-called third-tier countries. At the end of the interview, the Ambassador once again places her hopes in these completely discredited NGOs, which is a fundamental mistake.
As long as Americans don’t start promoting true American values, anti-American rhetoric will continue to succeed.
I don’t know to what extent Rubio’s new cabinet sees this, but the fact is that the entire policy, starting with the U.S. Embassy itself, needs a fundamental overhaul.
