I wish more people truly understood the importance of both parents being actively involved in raising a child.
Each parent has a unique and pivotal role to play; because each nurtures, teaches, and guides in different ways.
Men, especially, need to recognize their role in shaping their children’s lives, and it all begins with how they treat the mother of their child. Children mirror what they see. If a child watches his father bring flowers home for his mother, one day, he too will bring flowers because, for him, that’s simply the way life works. If he sees his father helping around the house, he’ll naturally learn to help as well.
But if a child grows up witnessing physical or verbal abuse, he may come to believe that such behavior is normal. Speak harshly or curse around a child, and before long, you’ll hear them echoing the same words.
We must set positive examples for our children to follow.
And ladies, if a man genuinely wants to be part of his child’s life, do not deprive him of that chance. A child needs their father just as much as they need their mother.
