"Findings reveal that individuals with high scores on celebrity-worship scales tend to display a number of psychosocial characteristics. For example, these individuals may harbor concerns about body image (particularly young adolescents), be more prone to cosmetic surgery, and have a personality style characterized by sensation-seeking, cognitive rigidity, identity diffusion, and poor interpersonal boundaries. Likewise, celebrity worshippers may exhibit narcissistic features, dissociation, addictive tendencies, stalking behavior, and compulsive buying. Studies also indicate that individuals with high levels of celebrity worship are more likely to have poorer mental health as well as clinical symptoms of depression, anxiety, and social dysfunction. Of note, no study to date has examined celebrity worshippers for bona fide Axis I and II psychiatric disorders. "The Ghetto Informant Program (GIP) was an intelligence-gathering operation run by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 1967 to 1973. Its official purpose was to collect information pertaining to riots and civil unrest. Through GIP, the FBI used more than 7,000 people to infiltrate poor black communities in the United States...
The GIP coincided with 'COINTELPRO–BLACK HATE...'
The program was targeted at those likely to have information about ghetto happenings. Thus (according to an internal memo) it included people such as "the proprietor of a candy store or barber shop" in a ghetto area. These informants were "listening posts"—tools for blanket surveillance of a community or area. GIP operated with no oversight from courts or Congress...
At least 67 informants were members of the Black Panther Party (BPP), tasked with spreading disinformation as well as sending reports to the FBI. Recent disclosures have suggested that photographer Ernest Withers was a paid FBI informant under the GIP....
The GIP was terminated in July 1973, and informants were either reclassified or discontinued. The term "extinction burst" is most commonly used in reference to Applied Behavior Analysis, a scientific form of therapy often used to help people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) develop social, communication, and daily living skills.👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

"An extinction burst is a temporary increase in the frequency, intensity, or duration of a behavior after a reinforcement is removed. In Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), extinction procedures are used to decrease interfering behaviors by withholding the reinforcement that was previously maintaining them.

• When the reinforcement stops, the behavior may escalate before it decreases. 
• This escalation is known as an extinction burst. 
• It is not a sign that the intervention isn’t working.
