We’re thrilled to welcome our smiling friend and Great Circles resident into the Sound Lounge booth.

A ravewraith hailing from the DIY lairs of Philadelphia (currently Bounce House), DJ Anarres plays sets inspired by altered states of consciousness, the work of Ursula K LeGuin, and the Life Spiral. Their radio show on Great Circles - Transilience (every 3rd Monday at 4pm since 2021!) - engages the function of rhythm that makes being. Access to the rhythm allows the individual to participate in eternity & ubiquity.

While their passion for Detroit Techno runs deep, we’ve heard DJ Anarres play so many deep cuts across genres. Join us Friday to hear what they select for the Sound Lounge experience.

Phil Yeah is a West Philly-based musician and record collector, and the current steward of the much-loved Fountain Green series (IYKYK). He has released original music on (sub-label of ) and , and since 2020 he has hosted Words to Remember, a monthly show presenting a wide range of ‘Good Music’ on Great Circles Radio.

This week we made some serious enhancements to the soundsystem. If you’ve been to The Sound Lounge before, your ears will notice - and we can’t wait to hear Phil bring it to life! 🔊🔊🔊

This Friday July 25th, 9pm-12am ~ we’re back for the 3nd session of ‘Great Circles Presents...’ ~ our weekly Friday residency in The Sound Lounge

In the booth all night is our friend .beyond.sound , a deep and soulful selector who’s now in his 4th year(!) as a Great Circles resident.

Sight-Beyond-Sound has been making consistent noise up and down the east coast, becoming a familiar face in more scenes than one - from multiple residencies between NYC and PHL, to the more underground staples for dance floor enthusiasts.

Enthusiastically assertive in the realms of classic house and tech, disco, and dusty globals, Sight-Beyond-Sound’s Great Circles Radio show - Rocking Time - traverses ‘all things Afro-Latino,’ from salsa and afrobeat to reggae and dub. Expect a vinyl sampling of all this and more at his Sound Lounge debut.

This a 3-hour flight. Settle into the one of the most inviting rooms in the city, enjoy a drink, and let Sight-Beyond-Sound do the rest ✈️

Shang is a resident DJ for the long-running Philly underground house music party Club Congress. A 4-year DJ on Great Circles Radio, their monthly show - “Here, I made this for you...” - is always an unpredictable musical adventure. A lifelong obsession with music digging has crafted Shang into an ideal selector for any occasion.

For this first offering, we bring you none other than the host of ‘The Corduroy Club’, one of the most psychedelic, lounge-inspired shows on Great Circles Radio...

Emerging from a smoke filled, heavily tinted haze is SLIM CORVELLI, spinning vinyl sounds you never knew you wanted or needed to hear. A set feels like a psychedelic trip that makes you want to groove and move, shake and think, all while never leaving the comfort of your seat. “There’s a surreal aspect, as if Salvador Dalí was spinning vinyl records.”

Combining Dub effects, guitar pedals, vinyl juggling, and loop sampling it’s a stereo sonic experience that can be copied but not replicated - bringing you the finest in Spiritual Jazz, Cosmic Funk, Smoking Soundtrack, Hidden Library, Liquid Psych, International Heat, & Loving Dub, all for you and yours.
