Performing Live - Jesse Beaman

Jesse Beaman is a musician, composer and producer who has collaborated with members of INTERPOL Sam Fogarino and Brandon Curtis, M83 synth player Joe Berry & Tangerine Dream’s, Hoshiko Yamane. In 2019 he toured with KAZU Makino of Blonde Redhead and has opened concerts for experimental pioneer Suzanne Ciani, Julianna Barwick, Silver Mt. Zion, CocoRosie, This Will Destroy You, Efterklang, Joan of Arc & more.

Jesse’s new Album ‘What Was There Now Is Not’ was released on July 11th 2025 on Bandcamp.

This year Jesse toured Latin America playing concerts in Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, US & Canada opening for This Will Destroy You. Performing venues such as The Chapel in San Francisco, Meow Wolf in Denver, Lincoln Hall in Chicago and many more.

This Friday 9p-12a we’re very excited to welcome Teeyam and DJ Slimey to The Sound Lounge for our weekly Friday residency!

We’ve only known Teeyam and Slimey for about a year, following their move to Philly, but both played guest sets on Great Circles Radio that immedately piqued our interest and inspired much shazaming. Expect No Wave, Art Rock, Minimal Synth, and other strange vinyl selections.

Teeyam
Drawing inspiration from his love for cinema, Teeyam’s DJ sets are captivating journeys that traverse through zones of brooding psychedelia, downtempo, electro, breaks, acid, wave, and whatever else feels right. He has an uncanny ability to weave together unique soundbites and samples, creating a sonic tapestry that captivates audiences and keeps them spellbound on the dancefloor. His sets are not confined to the familiar; instead, they explore the fringes of dance music, pushing the boundaries of sound with an unhinged groove that leaves no foot unshaken. Teeyam is 1/2 of the experimental dance music group PHREAKERS and runs an event series called House of Baba, which spotlights SWANA Musicians and DJs, delivering cutting-edge sounds in the diasporic experimental dance music scene.

DJ Slimey
DJ Slimey is a multidisciplinary artist from Texas who has spent the last decade immersed in New York’s experimental art and music scene. Known in the New York underground rave scene for her immersive sculpture and light installations, DJ Slimey’s exploratory aesthetic informs her unexpected selections behind the decks.

Their DJ sets delve into the outer realms of dance music, drawing inspiration from the avant-garde.

With a sound described as “weirdo and occasionally esoteric, yet always groovy and psychedelic,” they craft a unique auditory experience that pushes boundaries while maintaining an undeniable rhythm.

This Friday 9p-12a takes over the decks in The Sound Lounge for our weekly Friday residency.

Jesse Conrad aka DJ JJC has been in our orbit since the halcyon days of West Philly DIY house venues, when he was part of 409 House. It’s hard to say when we started running into him in the world of DJs, as his presence seems to be ubiquitous.

Jesse’s Great Circles Radio show, ‘Warm Glow,’ is coming up on its 3-year anniversary. He’s one of our most lightheartedly charismatic radio residents, with something to say about nearly every record he plays, all in the character of “your pal, DJ JJC.”

Between DJ gigs, radio, volunteering with Great Circles, and working deep in the vinyl trenches of Beautiful World Syndicate, Jesse can be found supporting DJ nights and shows across the city - a true music lover who’s always giving back.

We got a little sneak peek at the DJ JJC crate for this Friday night. Look forward to connecting dots from Led Zeppelin to Billy Hinton to Sylvester to Autechre and back again, all in the warm glow of the Sound Lounge fireplace and the hum of the Altecs.

This Friday 9p-12a DJ Supplanter takes over the decks in The Sound Lounge for our weekly Friday residency.

A Great Circles Radio resident for 5 years as of this November [show: Rootical Wire], and a friend of over 15 years, Supplanter radiates excitement about music and always has a story to tell about whatever record is in his hand.

Among DJs and music heads, Supplanter is best known for his massive collection and extraordinarily deep knowledge of Jamaican music, which he started buying in his teens, back when the legendary Studio One had a shop in the Olney section of North Philadelphia!

Here at GC, we know his taste in music runs in many other directions. This Friday, you can expect a dub-threaded journey through reggae, post-punk/no wave, proto-industrial, abstract electronic, new beat, Krautrock and more.

This Friday 9pm-12am, our weekly residency in The Sound Lounge at continues with longtime friend and Great Circles resident M//R .

A passionate and deeply knowledgeable music lover and record digger, M//R aka Billy Werner has been a resident DJ with Great Circles since waaaay back in the INCITING days (our 14-year Philly DIY space). Circa 2011, his ROBOTIQUE events with led to a collaborative party series at inciting called LIAISON, hosting artists like Beautiful Swimmers, Hieroglyphic Being, Protect-U and others.

Under the M//R moniker, Billy has released 3 albums and an EP on the Great Circles label, as well as 12”s on L.I.E.S., Jack Dept., and Details Sound.

Outside of dance and electronic music, Billy is known to many as the singer and writer for the screamo band Saetia and post-hardcore band Hot Crossed.

M//R DJ appearances are rare these days, so this will indeed be a special night in the Sound Lounge for friends old and new.
