Tracey Baker-Simmons is a 30+ year Entertainment industry veteran and seasoned television producer and one of the pioneers of reality television. She began her career in the music industry, then transitioned into music videos and commercials. Her first feature project was an independent film titled “The Book of Love” featuring Salli Richardson, Robyn Givens and Treach. She then moved into the non-scripted space creating the hit series Being Bobby Brown starring the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown. Over the past several years, her main focus has been the development of content and serving as an Executive Producer in non-scripted and made for TV movies. Tracey is no stranger to changes in HollyWood, but the recent changes, AI, productions going overseas and Los Angeles experiencing a serious downturn in business, there had to be a shift in mindset and strategy. We're going to talk with Tracey and discover what she's doing to stay ahead of the rapidly changing and evolving landscape that is HollyWood.

Witnessing the incremental growth from 250 attendees to 250 per screening feels unreal. Securing a spot early is crucial, or risk missing out! VIP passes offer guaranteed access, but they come at a cost. My writer/producer initially had a pass, but I quickly secured one too.

The film festival started as a small community event. After the first year, people asked when the next one would be. The organizer realized it was bigger than just a short film series. The first year sold out twice, and now the kickoff mixer sales are double what they were that first year.

Noel Braham and Courtney L. Branch are the founders of the Micheaux Film Festival which they started back in 2018. In a few short years the Micheaux Film Festival has become an integral part of the film festival landscape. Their focus on the filmmakers and building community has catapulted this festival into one of the best festivals to attend in the US. This years theme is Warrior, which is fitting because Noel and Courtney are warriors personified in their pursuit to make Micheaux the best film festival for filmmakers.
