I don’t remember where I first saw this idea but I knew I had to adopt it as one of our own family traditions once our anniversary hit! Our marriage is the foundation of our family, without us there wouldn’t be them. So while I’m all for a romantic and bougie date or getaway to celebrate, here are ways we also celebrated at home with the kids…

🎂 Ice cream cake with the number of candles for years married. Before we blew them out we made a wish for our family as a whole!
🎶 Dance party, totally the kids idea and a great way to get in a little exercise and sweat out the sugar before bed. Make it extra special by playing your wedding song and other memorable songs from the evening
🎥 Pull out the tapes and show them pictures and videos from the day

What else would you add? Is this something you’d do with your family? Let us know 💕

Obviously as a pediatric PT I love any kind of swimming to improve overall strength and mobility. However, finding virtual lessons this time around has had proven there are so many more advantages compared to the in person lessons I did with my first 2 kids. Here’s why:

👶Early start- Since lessons can be performed in a warm bathtub there’s no waiting until babies are old enough to tolerate the chemical and bacteria you find in pools or lakes. Exposing babies to these skills as young as 3 weeks means we are already learning things like free floating so she can be as safe and as confident as possible around water.
⏰Less time- even though we live in a city and had many options of swim classes, we were spending more time commuting both ways than actually in the pool. Now with a 3rd time is even more sacred so the fact that this takes 20 minutes and that’s it has been life changing.
🛁Bath transition- As soon as class is over we ditch the suit and soap up. Before I used to change into dry clothes, commute wet, then start the bath process once we got home. It was honestly exhausting even when it was only one kid.
✈️Flexibility- we travel every chance we get which also means it’s hard to fit things like swim class into our routine and not be loosing money on the ones we miss. Now I just take my laptop anywhere we have a bath- hotel rooms, grandmas house, etc. We’ve done it all!
🫂Guidance- swim class often looks like a bunch of toddlers sitting on the side of the pool waiting their turn to run a skill with the instructor. With 1:1 sessions we are learning easily double the skills in the same amount of time with much better feedback.

P.S. should I add these to my Ultimate Baby Registry Guide? 😏 I would have loveddd something like this as a gift when pregnant. Such a great way to help new moms learn how to play with their newborn, bond, and grow!

My thoughts when editing this video. 1. We all really love a good surprise and hope more surprises are in our future. 2. I deeply feel Emotional Support Pals are CUTE and can probably make a separate edit counting how many times I said it (I edited out half of them for time 🤣). 3. Unboxing style videos are pure chaos in this family. 4. Is anyone actually going to watch this? This is outside our usual content style but I’m trying to let go of my perfectionist ways and just post more frequently SO let me know below if you actually made it to the end 🙃

Drawing is doing a lot more than creating a masterpiece. ✏️🎨

Every stroke relies on teamwork between your eyes, brain, and hands. As you draw, you’re practicing visual-motor integration, fine motor control, hand strength, bilateral coordination, motor planning, and sustained attention—all skills that support everyday tasks from getting dressed to using utensils.

And here’s a fun fact: your hands contain 27 bones, 34 muscles, and over 100 ligaments and tendons working together to create precise movements. Pretty amazing what a simple drawing can do!

Download Simply Draw today and follow for more evidence-based ways to support your child’s development through play, travel, and everyday adventures. 💛
